not working on soundcloud Rated 1 out of 5 stars

doesn't work on soundcloud on firefox 50 with foxyscrobbler 1.527

If it doesn't work - read this! / Jeśli nie działa - przeczytaj to! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I noticed that Youtube don't "refresh" itself (just loading new track), so FoxyScrobbler can't find out new track. My solution - use Greasemonkey and my little script that refreshes Youtube when new track starts.

var title = document.title;
setInterval(function() {
if(title != document.title) {
location.reload();
}
}, 2000);

lets hope, it works! Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I just installed it in my ff48.0 for Mac and Win7 in the hope of having a Scrobbler for Soundcloud.

So far, I listened to some music for two days, but nothing is scrobbled. (Scrobbling is working for other tools, so its this addon, which does not work)

I authorized this addon to use my last.fm account after restarting ff, but there was another tab opened which clould not loaded, maybe the website from the developer. (EDIT: Yes, the website of the developer is not reachable atm....maybe thats the reason, the component isn't working! cannot load: http // www baluvaithinathan com / foxyscrobbler / updated )

A Youtube music video is not scrobbled too.

No gibberish in the names of the tracks.

On the nice little icon, I found the text "username not set" and entered my last.fm username, but then the menu-entry was just "username:" don't know, if this indicates a problem.

Also, the addon decriptions says:
"Tag currently playing artist and track" -> but how & where?

"Unobtrusive notifications (can be turned off)" -> never saw any notifications, so its very Unobtrusive :-) Setting is On.

keep up the good (and maybe hard) work!

it's not working Rated 1 out of 5 stars

it's a great plugin if only it worked , it doesn't on version 48 playing music on soundcloud

Great scrobbler Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The addon is good and scrobbles all my songs but sadly it has one mayor flaw.
It causes high cpu usage at all times even when idling (up to 30%!). With the addon disabled I am below 1% CPU usage when idling.
Edit: After doing some additional tests it seems like there are some incompatibility issues with Keefox, because I only get High CPU usage with BOTH addons enabled, if enable only one of the two its fine.

Hmm, FoxyScrobbler does not really do much other than look for HTML elements that contain song info, and then posts it to Last.fm. Could it be possible that another add-on is causing a conflict with FoxyScrobbler? You could find out by disabling all other add-ons except FoxyScrobbler and see if the high CPU usage persists. Do let me know so I can get to the bottom of this if there is actually an issue!

Patience for Pandora Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I added this to Firefox, restarted the browser, authed with last.fm. After three songs on Pandora nothing had shown up on last.fm.

Then in the middle of writing this review I see a notification. Suddenly it started working.

So for people out there using pandora, make sure the scrobbler shows as being authed in your last.fm profile and give it a few songs to get its butt in gear.

It worked for a while, but now it's broken. It still detects the songs (if I hover the icon it shows me correct info) but it doesn't scrobble them. Even after authorizing it again.

Doesn't scrobble Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Dear Balu!

I write this more as a question than a review, because, well, I can't make it work. I installed it several times (before and after last.fm design changes, if that matters) with ni success. My experiments show that it doesn't scroblle from several sources (Pandora - my main requirement, also youtube and soundcloud), so I conclude that something is wrong on Scrobbler -> Last.fm part.
I have tried clear token fix with no luck. Also did multiple re-auth (for the love of god, I don't know where to manage apps in new last.fm, so couldn't make sure it is removed or authed in any way). I hope there is a way to fix it.

Best regards,
Sergey.

P.S. scrobbling from other sources (say, Spotify app) work, though after last.fm update scrobbling from other resources stopped as well.

Not working on Soundcloud again.
i just tested this on the first 5 songs in here: https://soundcloud.com/tomggg . None of them trigger the foxyscrobbler button to turn orange and thus do not scrobble. Yes, I have authenticated on last.fm.

Best Last.fm Scrobbler extension for Firefox Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is the best Firefox Scrobbler extension that there is. It can definitely use some improvements, I won't rehash what most other users and reviewers have already said and requested except that I wish they'd add VK.com support and fix a few things. I'll gladly even donate some money for your trouble!

Nothing beats a good YouTube Scrobbler. Ever since every major music label got greedy and disabled embedding music videos, I've been mad as hell. They pretty much killed last.fm's inferior YouTube radio player (beta). This extension doesn't fix that but it's the next best thing to that.

Suggestions for FoxyScrobbler Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Hello,

I really love and use your add-on, since it is the only working one for Firefox.
Therefore, I struggle with some usability problems daily. I hope you won't mind some constructive feedback.

First of, there is no way to see and understand the status of FoxyScrobbler. The only visible feedback are the notifications (which rarely work) and the change of the background colour to orange (and still I'm not quite sure what does it mean).

I would like to be able to see if the add-on:
- has found a song playing in the current tab or other tabs and what song it is
- has managed to parse the title string and what artist/title thinks it is
- has managed to send "now playing" status to last.fm and if the service acknowledged the artist/title
- is going to scrobble and when (what % of the song has played)
- has successfully scrobbled the song

Additionally to the lack of status, there is a need to allow the user to interact with the add-on.
- I need to be able to edit the current song title while it is playing if I see that something failed.
- Ideally these edits should be saved if I want to replay the same song.
- if wrong data has prevented the scrobble, it should try to resend after my edit, even if the song has played more than 50%

- Turning off the plugin should be in the sub menu. I usually turn off scrobbling only if someone else is using my browser. And even then I prefer to create an new profile or run in guest mode or use private/incognito browsing.
- Clicking on the Fox button should show fields to edit Title/Artist/Album and optionally to cancel current scrobble or mute and never scrobble this song/URL.

There where too many times that I wanted to edit what the scrobbler is about or not to submit. I instictively click on the button and bam! the addon is turned off and in order to scrobble you have to reload the entire page and maybe loose the playlist. This also happens with another extension for chrome "Last.fm Scrobbler"

But scroblr for Chrome for example is much more friendlier. Please, try it if you have the time.

Also I saw that Foxy couldn't parse this playlist:
https://soundcloud.com/the-delphi-label/sets/sacred-animals

I hope to hear you back if you agree on any of these points.

Regards,
dixonbg

still by far the best lastfm scrobbler on any browser ive tested. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

running 1.526 but soundcloud still fails with perfect labelling. no scrobbling at all.

please find a fix. rating will be upgraded straight away.

is there a minimum play time/percentage before scrobble because it seems slower than before?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.526.1-signed).

This was fixed like a week ago, update the add-on to version 1.526. And read the last paragraph (note) in description about the criteria for SoundCloud scrobbling.

Any love for Pandora? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is working great for youtube but I can't seem to get it working for Pandora.

Will change rating if feedback received! Thank you

Edit: Got it to work. Thank you!

Edit2: In order to get it to work I had to remove it from Last.fm, restart Firefox completely and then allow it again on Last.fm. Even so, it kicked in after some 10 minutes, so give it time.

I'm glad you got it to work. Could you please share the nature of your problem, and how you solved it so that anyone having the same problem in the future could follow those steps, rather than leave an impulsive low rating and review?

Good Add-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

1 star review (original)
Why? Was not working....
Thx for the fast response! The add-on was already authorized with last.fm
Future users, be CAREFUL about CONFLICTING add-ons.
This add-on works great with a fresh Firefox profile.

5 stars review (update)
because this add-on is the best and I understand it is a work in progress!!!

The ctrl + shift + K works like a charm for seeing if the add-on is working thanks!!!

In summary, cool add-on thanks!!!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.2.1-signed).

FoxyScrobbler outputs scrobbling and track info to the Web Console. Just hit ctrl + shift + K (⌘ + option + K on a Mac), and filter FoxyScrobbler's output by typing "FoxyScrobbler" into the search box. I suspect you probably have not authorized the add-on with Last.fm. I'd suggest you first click the little arrow icon next to the FoxyScrobbler icon, then select "Re-auth FoxyScrobbler", then try scrobbling from YouTube, for example.

If it works, please reconsider changing your 1 star rating.

vk.com scrobbling please! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Thank you for the suggestion! At first thought, it kind of looks like a lot of work, but I'll take up the challenge and see what I can do. :D
