please update for 4.0 compatibility so I could use this wonderful addon there ^.^

Very nice job Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works very well. I use this and "Tabs" which splits the tab only, not the browser. One thing I'd like to see in this add-on is that both panes have a navigation/URL bar. The only other thing I can think of is having the option to only split a TAB, leaving the rest of the browser normal, but that isn't a big deal because you can hide the split anyway. In fact, forget that. That would just complicate things without adding anything. Opps, just noticed a dislike: When you activate the Splitter pane, and then choose a new tab, it opens it in the other side, the Firefox side. Why doesn't it open in the active side? What I can see now is that there is no way to open new tabs in the Splitter pane except for creating them in the Firefox side, then dragging them to the Splitter side.

Absolutely can't live without this add-on! Runs smoothly and helps me multi-task much more efficiently compared to clicking back and forth through tabs.

Very convenient

yeah! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Pretty cool, some suggestions:
Underline "Split Current Tab to" in the menu to make it keyboard accessible.

This addon helps organize my browser when I'm multitasking and getting some serious work done.

It's great to be able to open work websites and facebook on the same window.

Breaks "reload every..." Rated 2 out of 5 stars

If you hope to keep a forum site in a narrow side window, with its tab set to reload every minute, to see if any new posts were added, you'll be disappointed. The "reload every" will be applied to the main window's current tab instead.

An "open/show page in new tiled subtab" (1.x tab in example below) option would be nice.

Example:
| selected page1.1 tab | page 2 tab | ........... |
| |_________________________|
| .... page 1.1 content ................................................................|
| ........................................................................................................|
|_____________________________________________|
| ... page 1.2 content ................................................................|
| .......................................................................................................|

- page 2 is a standard tab that, when clicked takes the whole screen space
- page 1.x tab is always tiled
(one does not want to move splitters to "simulate" global tabs
nor do I like to have multiple browser windows open)

Usability:
- this is very much prefered because:
- standard tabs (global tabs): have many pages that when
clicked take the whole space
- tiled tabs (tiled global tabs): have some pages at the
same time on one screen, e.g. for copying between web
apps, comparing content, ...

One fatal flaw Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The lack of an Un-Split button means that whenever you accidently click Split instead of on the scroll button (they are located in the exact same place but the Split button only appears after a very brief hover) the page you are trying to scroll gets split into a never-never frame from which it is unrecoverable. The only option is to close the frame containing the important page of focus which you were actively scrolling, and re-navigate to it. It just shuts down your mental process for a minute or two. It jacks up your flow big time.

Compatability with Zotero Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Excellent add-on but sadly not compatible with Zotero 2.0.3 running under Firefox 3.5 (prevents the Zotero pane from opening). Looking forward to a fix - if one is forthcoming.

There is a major flaw in this add-on: There is no Back button in the toolbar of the new panel. Right clicking in the new panel may give a Back command, but it applies to the original panel, not the new one. The < and > next to the address bar are grayed out, so they are not useful either.

On the plus side, I like the ability to lock scrolling between the two panels and turn that on and off easily.

Instant 5 stars for massively increasing my ability to multitask. That alone is enough. Now for the problems and suggestions.

First, while middle-clicking a link in the new division it works great, but if I try to open a bookmark or a link on my bookmark toolbar, it always starts it in the main division. Second, the ability to merge two divisions took me a lot of experimentation to find. A button or right click option would help. There are some minor problems with adblock, as others have mentioned, but I don't count addon conflicts when giving ratings. Personally I haven't had a problem with popups, so maybe that was fixed.

Unsplit Problem Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Splitting the screen is the way to go with a widescreen monitor. It's nice to have a chat or video rolling on one side of the screen while I continue my internet toiling on the other. Very useful add-on.

However, because of a glitch or design flaw, I cannot unsplit the screen when I want to go back to a full-screen view. There is a close button, which presumably is there to close the split window, but clicking it does nothing. The only way to get rid of the split is to close or restart Firefox. Very frustrating.

Excellent add-on. I agree with other reviewer that it should account for popups. Also, I have not used it that much yet, but does it have a "panic button"? A big old one would be nice to bring everything back to normal if things get out of hand.

This, is awesome. I hate to say it, but this, or some similar functionality should be added to the core...

Please give this add-on an option to stop it from opening in pop up windows. Thanks and sweet add-on Man!!!
