Отличное дополнение, спасибо!
When typing, the first character was a letter, but i was typing chinese characters...Can you fix it ?
FK steals the focus from the bookmark panel when trying to add a new favorite (Ctrl+D) by tabbing over the favorite buttons. It also happens when accessing History and Favorites pages entering their addresses in new tabs (chrome://browser/content/history/history-panel.xul and chrome://browser/content/places/places.xul). Please, check this, because this extension is very practical.
Love it! Keep up the good work!
It has a old bug,set firefox to open in new window and not new tab,go to google, set google to open in new window, search something, click a site,it will open the window wrong not in full sized..
I really like the approach of this extension to using Firefox. There is one annoying bug for me, thought - I use AutoCopy extension and every time I open new tab, the 'about:blank' is being copied, even despite fact that copying text in text fields is off... I would be really grateful if you could check this. Cheers
Get the new version from the version history page directly:
it looks like tabbing in textarea order feature is broken since ff 15/16 ... it works only for 3-4 minutes, but after certain time it stops to work (tested on few machines on both beta and stable ff versions)...
Thanks! Version 2.0 now fixes thees issues.
if the developer is reading this,i have one small request to make:
is it possibly to automatically paste in the urlbar whatever text i select with my mouse? i know that the addon can do this through a shortcut but it would be a lot faster and easier if this thing was done directly.A similar function is supported by the SelectToSearch addon for the searbar and it would have been great if your addon could do the same for the urlbar without the need of that shortcut.this automation would enhance the use of the browser tremendously.
Other than that, your addon is excellent.
Great idea, but does not work as I would like too. It is too concentrated on Location bar. Should be called Locationbar Focus.
If you wanted to it right, this extension should select input field near current mouse location. Just move mouse close to locationbar, searchbar, findbar or text input area in the page and start typing or coping or pasting(to the end in case of text input area).
The point of this add-on is to lessen the need of using the mouse, hence the name Focus Keyboard. The way you would like it, is not the aim of this extension or what it's about. Sorry.
Very nice addon. Greatly increases my productivity.
By the way, consider excluding the slash key ("/") from being detected by the location bar if possible. This key is reserved for activating the quick find toolbar.
Thanks for pointing this out, the slash key is now excluded in v1.8
This is one of my favorite Firefox add-ons. It is a great productivity extension, saving many keyboard strokes, and mouse movements.
1) Make the blacklist more intuitive. Maybe a button to add the current page or domain? Or an explanation on wildcards.
2) There seems to be a problem with text highlighting. The scenario: search Google using the search box. Then click on the input field and start typing. The extension paints the input field in pale yellow, and this covers the underlying text.
This is a review that I've just written on the ghacks website, so I thought it was worth reproducing here...
This is a great little extension. I use it in association with the Enter Selects extension, which automatically opens the top entry in the Awesome bar drop-down list when hitting the Enter key.
By adding three letter keywords to my favourite sites, all it takes is four key stokes to open them.
For instance I have the Firefox Extensions web page bookmarked with the keyword “xfe”, and just have to type xfe and Enter to open it, without having to use the mouse or any hotkeys at all.
The other functions of the Focus Keyboard extension also come in useful from time to time.
Works great. Any chance of v5 update?
Version 1.6 can now be downloaded from the "View all versions" page.
Almost What I wanted, theres something thing to add: a way to show the actual adress withour reloading. Adding ctrl to do the same as alt+enter would be good too.
A few kinks with the "tab in order between checked elements" feature for me that ruined my web browsing experience on a few sites, but thankfully it can be disabled and otherwise this addon is excellent for what it does!
It works good, is useful and I have the following suggestion:
Highlighting the active input-element is done outline and changes height of the element. This leads to the unpleasant effect, that height of the site always slightly changes by some pixels, if element is focused.
It would be good if there was used another method to highlight, which does not have this unwanted effect.
