Instructions for FF3's Default Bookmark Editing Rated 3 out of 5 stars

It's obsolete.
Go to "Bookmarks" Tab on the top menu bar where File, Edit, etc are.
In that drop down menu, click "Organize Bookmarks" ( Or Press: Control + Shift + B )
After that, you will have a library window open with all of your bookmarks...
Once that window opens, click on a bookmark (Just once so it doesn't open the bookmark!)
Then on the bottom there will be a few options,
Name: (Bookmark's Saved Name)
Location: (URL of bookmark)
Tags: (Tags you've tagged the bookmark with)

Then there will be a little spot that says "More" with a little downwards pointing arrow.
If you click that arrow it will give you three more options;
Keyword: (Keywords you've entered for this bookmark)
Description: (Description given for the bookmark)
[] Load this bookmark in the sidebar ( the "[]" represents a checkbox)

There you go, that should help all of you that can't find the option...
If it's not there, make sure you have the newest version of firefox, if not, update.
If you do have the newest version, make sure you don't have any other addon's or extensions that are affecting your bookmark options.
(I personally only have Bookmark Toolbar Toggle button installed
and the Multiple Row Bookmark Toolbar installed)

I can't see that more option you're talking about in the FF3 Bookmark Manager, i can't even edit the bookmarks in it?

Where is that edit option in FF3? There is none for me.
And i looked in every menu of the bookmark manager...

I'm on FF3, and there is no way to edit a bookmark. BigThunder's comment on clicking on "more" doesn't work for me, because I don't have that option. I'm not sure why he does and I don't, but I would love to be able to try this extention. Any chance of making it available for FF3?

Thanks chouser for a great extension. Congratulations on having the feature added to FF3.

Not needed in FF3... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

...as Dominic Pfluger stated in his comment, it's obsolete. This feature has been incorporated in the FF3 'Bookmarks Organizer'. Open the 'bookmark Organizer' feature from the bookmark menu. Highlight a bookmark, then at the bottom of the editing area click on the 'More' button. This will open the 'additional text editing box's/dialogs' which work and look just as they did in the 'Flat Bookmark Editing' extension. This was and still is an excellent extension for users of FF prior to FF3.

Regards and thank you "chouser" for a great extension. Emulation is the greatest honor, and FF3 has done just that for "Flat Bookmark Editing and it's developer"! ;)

Very useful extension for Firefox 2, but it is obsolete for Firefox 3 and above.

This is an excellent replacement for the default Firefox bookmarks editor -- quite recommended! This should be incorporated in the next version of Firefox as it drastically improves bookmark management.

Enhancement if possible Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This add-on is VERY helpful. I appreciate it. I believe a significant enhancement would be if it also displayed in what folder the search results are located.

Thank you for this add-on. It makes managing bookmarks a lot more user friendly.

Indispensable, yet... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

...could be better in manipulating, such as:
1. rename by context/right-click menu, and slow double-click.
2. move directory right in left panel
3. ...

great Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Nice, easy to use and saves alot of time. Should be a default feature in Firefox.

It displays folder file count too! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Rather than editing one at a time, you can edit one after another. Saves a lot of time, but I have it disabled most of the time because it spawns an unneeded space-wasting status bar.

Love It! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is my favorite extension. It makes organizing my (thousands of) bookmarks soooo much quicker and easier. It should definitely be a Firefox default.

One request though. It would be helpful if, after searching for a term, the list would show what folder the bookmark is in, if it already is in one.

Thanks for the great extension!

EXCELLENT! Should be FF default. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I LIKE IT A LOT! IT MUST BE INCLUDED INTO FIREFOX BY DEFAULT! Thanks for this great add-on.

Should be default Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It was saving me a lot of time when cleaning up my bookmarks.

Ten Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I haven't even used it yet!

I just quickly opened up
bookmarks > organize

But =that= was enough to see how much better it is then using properties.

It's needed! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I certainly concur with the previous reviewers of this extension who said it should be a default feature in the Firefox browser. Perhaps we will see it in Firefox 3.0....hint hint. To open this bookmark manager and to add a bookmark I use mouse gestures. (All-in-One Gestures)

This Really SHOULD be Default! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It wastes so much time having to open that Properties window every time I want to change some simple little thing on a bookmark. This will make life a LOT easier for me.

This really SHOULD be included as the Default!

For anybody wanting to manage his bookmarks, this is a must - a gain of time.
===UPDATE===
IS now default.
This has become obsolete for FF3. Shows how important this feature is.
Thanks for making it.
