Only 4 stars because it doesn't support 6.0.2!
Any chance to put that working on firefox 4 ?
This tool is quite good, but one thing keeps me nervous all the time: when new version of FF comes out I have to search an updated version of flash tracer. There's also one nice tool for log viewing, but this is not integrated into a browser http://code.google.com/p/flash-tracer/
what can it help users?
It works, yes, on 3.5.5! Works exactly as it is described. Have a mm.cfg file at the right place, point the output to flashlog.txt and that's it. Good job.
FlashTracer works fine on Firefox 3.5 (tested with 3.5.3). You just need to make sure you have the latest DEBUG Flash Player and also you need to customize your mm.cfg file. But it does in fact work.
Anyway, here is how you do it:
Go here and download the latest version of FlashTracer (2.3.1):
Then follow the instructions on this page exactly:
That page will explain how you can get real-time trace output on the console window, but it is also the same steps needed for FlashTracer to work. As an added bonus, that solution will actually let you see trace output in *any* browser so you can easily test for cross-browser issues as long as it supports the Flash debug player (I tested Firefox 3.5, IE 8, and Safari 4). Hope that helps.
Please!! Do it for Firefox 3.5!!
Por favooorr!! Hacelo para Firefox 3.5!! xDDD
Hoping to see an update soon... seems like a great tool, but can't get it to work on FF3.5 (even after forcing installation)
Great, invaluable tool for debbuging flash applications in the browser.
Important: This entry still links to Version 2.2.0 - current version is 2.3.1 which brings FF3 support!
Please make it for Firefox 3.0.3! I really need it for the things I do but it does not work!!!!
Best and only tool to deug flash projects online!
Need FF3 version!
The location of the log file is changed to this location for Windows: %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\Logs\flashlog.txt
Accordingly to this post: http://mentalaxis.com/words/2007/02/01/debugging-with-flash-player-90280/
This is a fix location (so doesn't use the parameter in the mm.cfg file), so this should be very easy to modify the add-on.
Please let me know when you have done.
firefox 3, ¿when?
excellent, necessary, amazing. thank you so much! bear in mind this will slow down performance greatly when active.
The latest version at the link below is FF3 compatible:
Now that completes my favorite list of add-ons I was eagerly awaiting since FF3. Thanks a ton Alessandro :)
Can you please make an update so that it works with FF3? Pretty please :P I hate to go back to FF2 just because I cant run this add-on in FF3 :(
Thank you so much for working on this.
Any updates for Firefox 3 in view?
Any updates for Firefox 3.0 in view?
An absolutely invaluable tool for Flash developers.
NOTE: At the moment, this page shows version 2.1.5 which should be compatible with Firefox 3--but my Firefox said it was incompatible. For a newer version that *is* compatible, visit the homepage: http://www.sephiroth.it/firefox/flashtracer/
Great product, been using it for years. A few bugs introduced in the new version:
Leading whitespace in lines removed (tabbing lines from left is very useful in complex object traces)
Can't modify Warnings settings - every time I access the Options page it resets to 100
nicely done, huge help and time saver! Further enhancement idea : searchable?
I\'ve installed the debug flash player.\r\nI\'m Running Firefox/22.214.171.124 on WinXp and the extension is not working for me on both my machines.
