Nice extension. I like it. :) Thank you guys.
Very useful, thanks. Only one thing - the pop up note is a bit annoying in spite of the "Don't show this again" checkbox presence. Is it possible to have something like "don't show pop up note" checkbox in properties dialog? I'd like only see the flag.
Sounds non-sense but I love it.
Suggestion A) Add variable timeout for message bar to disappear after a few seconds (like in NoScript) B) Whitelisting of sites (e.g. Google that uses cache servers)
If you have POPUP CHINESE DICTIONARY v1.0 Flagfox and WOT will not work.. Till popup Chinese dictionary v1.0 fix So let you know flagfox a OK :)
Thanks for reporting this. The problem is entirely on their end. Read here:
This is fixed in their extension as of version 1.3.
i like it ,so interesting.thanks
Excellent time saving tool to see where a site is hosted.
Très Eclaircissant pour moi, cet Add-on me situe dans la ''nébuleuse'' serveurs et autres ''prète-noms''. C'est mieux de voir son parcours. Merci !
tya,.. really helpfull.. thanks.. ^_^
Preet cool add-on. Before installing it, i was somewhat oblivious to where the page was actually comming from. And with that i mean were the server is located at. A nice non-obtrusive flag on the url bar shows you exactly that. Now, i feel naked if i have this add-on disabled. Try it!
It's amazing how often I use this add-on. It's opened my eyes to how the internet is organised. I find it fascinating, informative and revealing. Even the web domains I own myself turn out to be sited where I was suprprised to find them! The ongoing link to domaintools makes this a must. Thanks so much for it, it's a real boon.
Excellent tool for search engine optimisation
I want to set up a query for alexa.com when I use http://www.alexa.com/search?q= My statement is incomplete. How do i add to it to do a specific site search? Thanks
You need to add the placeholder for the domain name to the URL to tell Flagfox what to search with. Click the little help icon in the options menu to list the available variables and their placeholders.
To search Alexa for a domain name:
To search Alexa within a domain name:
(though, Alexa seems to ignore sub-domains here)

just a little bit more info.we might wont to know
great security add-on
I really love this addition!!!
Just because, it's shows on the location bar. I don't use the status bar. Hence
I like this Add-on as well. It is simple to use and accurate. The only problem I have seen with it is when you zoom in on the server on the map, it's not where it should be. For instance you zoom in and it shows the server in the middle of a river. This is not an issue with this add-on but just the maps. The fella thinking his political beliefs as to Taiwan's independence should keep them to himself. This is not the place for it. I suggest you go out on a street corner and speak your thoughts there. Maybe your country will give you a reward.
I would advise people to install this add in.
This tool takes almost no space at all and is simple to use.
Reasons to use this:
1. If the website is hosted in China, that would kind of tell you that the information would have been "corrected" by the PRC.
2. Different countries, different internet laws
3. If a website of a software is in a unexpected country, this tool could give you a heads up before you download anything
For my part, I just installed it because I am curious where websites are hosted, it takes virtually no space, so why not install it?
In response to Love_Ruo,
the Republic of China is a country. Look up the truth on any website not controlled by PRC. If Taiwan was not a country, I would not be in the US because my dad is a diplomat sent from Taiwan to the US. Also, the developer is not trying to make a statement (I hope), he/she is just sharing a useful tool to other people. Also, what is the meaning of typing in Chinese? Are you trying to insult people or make a point?
PS: if people are curious to why I am responding to Love_Ruo, translate his simplified Chinese to English and it will be apparent. I kind of find it offensive due to the fact that
1. Making false assumptions based on no fact
2. " 希望你能就這個錯誤做些什麼", what mistake did the developer make?
Out of curiosity, why did you go to a Taiwan website in the first place? Which website?
Отличное дополнение !
К отличному браузеру
спасибо разработчикам !
James Wu ,
I agree you.
TAIWAN is not a part of china.
