Work on Win8.1 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Just works great in win8.1 with thunderbird 31.5.

Options on right click to restore only the window you want would have been perfect.

already there

Hi, thanks for the nice review.
Hidden windows are already listed by name in the popup menu, when you right-click on the icon.

Not work on Windows 7 - TB.14 Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I could use this add-on before, I used Redhat. Now, I want to use it on my Window 7, but it does not work. Could you please teach me the way to solve this problem.
I'm using TB14

Not really

Broke! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

As of 0.5.4 this broke for me on Ubuntu 14.04 with TB 31.3.0. Does nothing. Never minimizes to tray. Clicking on TB's X kills TB instead of minimizes to tray. Minimizing an app to the tray should be trivial and never break but it breaks all the time.

No downgrade needed, read github issues Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great add-on, though suffers from some bad management decisions. To restore old tray icon (with left click and message count), open preferences, "advanced→config editor", find "with_appindicator" and set it to false. Then restart Thunderbird.

Thank you, very useful.

Previously awesome, latest upgrade needs a bit of work Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Kubuntu (14.04) user here. Had to downgrade from 0.5.4 version to 0.5.3 to restore unread message count functionality. (0.5.3, like prior versions, works like a charm).

It is the most useful add-on for Thunderbird, but version 0.5.4 doesn't deliver the same good experience as 0.5.3 in KDE. Doesn't show number of new emails and what is the worst it is impossible to open the client by double-click. I had to downgrade.

Before update everything was ok, now.... Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Before january 1 update, everything was running awesome, as usual. Now, im unable to open thunderbird by simple double clicking on its system tray icon (KDE). Also, the system tray icon doesnt show the number of new/non read messages anymore. I hope you fix it soon. Its was a very useful app

Another disappointed user here because unread mail count is missing in the new 0.5.4 version. I removed that version and manually installed 0.5.3 and all is good again, hopefully this can be fixed soonish. Thanks for the great addon!

Very useful Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very useful plugin, I always wondered why this functionality is not included with Thunderbird by default. With the posted workaround for Xubuntu, version 0.5.4 works perfectly again.

Thanks for the work on this!

The show/hide functionallity is bad option.
The new version 0.5.4 doesn't count unread/new messages. I've tried to move back one (two) versions, but no count either. I think new version had messed up configuration and I can't manage to fix it. PLEASE. Without above functionallity the firetray add-on is worthless.

why the fuck do i have to use mouse wheel click to hide/unhide?
everything else is controlled with the left click.
but firetray wants mouse wheel click...

add a feature where i can select the hide/unhide button.

How can I open Firefox under Xubuntu by click on icon in tray (now menu opened)?

Can I by option return old pattern - open Firefox by left-mouse-click on icon in tray?

Bugs icon in tray (Linux) Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very nice add-on but setup own icon for apps and new mail (Linux tray) it's not working in 0.5.4 version. In older version working good.

Хорошее расширение.

very nice, but can be improved Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It is very nice (especially, because of showing new mail icon properly!), but there is something to improve.

1. It would be very convenient, if icon options contained an options "Click to move to current desktop and activate" and "Click to activate and change desktop". The matter is that by default a click hides a window, when it is open, or restores it, if it is hidden. Thus, if you want to have the window before your eyes, you need one or two clicks depending on the situation, or scroll the wheel twice (down and then up). It would be much more convenient to click once independently of the initial state of the window to make the window appear before your eyes (depending of personal taste: either by moving the window to the current desktop or by changing the desktop to the window).

2. The default icons are not scaled automatically in the system tray (KDE4). With some icon themes (crystalsvg) they turn out to be too small. I replaced them with custom icons (from /usr/lib??/thunderbird or /usr/lib??/firerfox directories), but in the case of firefox it initially scales too large, and I need to force it to disappear and reappear to make it be properly scaled. Probably, some interaction with system tray is broken.

Hi, as for 1. I think this is partially covered by the middle click.

Sorry folks, to me this add-on looks quite buggy. On my Linux Mint 16 MATE with an HP all-in-one network printer (6700 Premium) installed, this add-on prevents the tray icon of the HPLIP-GUI package from appearing at system's start up. With this add-on disabled, the mentioned icon does appear always.
Could you have a look at this please?
Or maybe, if you could add an adjustable(!) delay to make sure the HP-icon will load BEFORE this add-on and accordingly TB get loaded, please?
