I was pleased to find an alternative to the FirePHP I had used in the past, but found it does not work with Firefox Developer Edition / Firebug (e10s capable)... Any chance this will be updated?
Very nice and simple extension!
vary usefull as debugger for php, i enable it in my cms by cookie
what about firefox 5.0? where can i find info about changing compatibility?
Update: For now, I'm giving up on trying to use this extension. It sounds like a great idea, but I can't get it to work, even if I get the extension to work as I described below.
This extension only works with Firebug versions 1.4 through 1.7. FireFox version checking for add-ons is very strict. If you upgrade to a version of Firebug greater than 1.7, FireLogger will not work. In that case, you will see a message for FireLogger in the FF Add-Ons window like, "Requires additional items." It should be more specific and state that the version numbers don't match. Better yet, FireLogger developers should update the extension to be compatible with newer versions of Firebug.
For the moment, there's a workaround:
In Firefox 3, right-click on FireLogger in the Add-Ons window and go to the extension’s install directory. Open the file "install.rdf" in a text editor and change this line:
Save the file, then restart FireFox. FireLogger should now be ready to use.
The plugin (0.8) is broken; the server side (firepython 0.7 compiled from git) includes a huge header "firelogger-" payload but it is ignored. Net is enabled, console is enabled. Plug in is broken. Great idea but if it doesn't work it is a huge waste of time.
Did you manage to fix this component? I'd like to give it a try...
You have to enable net panel and console panel. FireLogger depends on these Firebug features to be enabled.
Unfortunately, this plugin now breaks Firebug 1.4 on Firefox 3.*
Therefore, highly not recommended. Will revise review if this is fixed.
If you're doing web development in Python with Google App Engine this is add-on is indispensable.
Very convenient for debugging AJAX and backend. No need to constantly switch between the terminal and browser windows! Highly recommended
