Very non useful Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Maybe it was a great add-on in the past, but now it is useless since the php file can't be found (domain is down).
Maybe if we can get the php and put it in our host...

What is this? No PHP file, the FireFile doesn't work. Useless addon.

was the best Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I used a few times and it was really helpfull: easy and fast to try changes (with firebug) and save-it as simple as a click (thanks to tobias firefile)
NOW IS NOT WORKING anymore since www.firefile.at is down and server side file (required to work) needs that host to connect.
a bity dud.
thanks anyway

That's a fantastic add-on... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I would very much appreciate to use this,... but it does not work. zerohimself, maybe you can explain more detailed, what you have changed in the php-file. probably i deleted too much code, when i followed point 1 of your description, how to adapt the php-file. I always get the following error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '->' (T_OBJECT_OPERATOR) in...
would be great to get more detailed help to use this useful tool.

this plugin is a real life-saving game-changer(and it does work.. it just takes a website designer to fix a little problem) Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Let me start with this: this plugin should get 5-stars; however it does not save comments, and it gave me some initial problems.
upon installing the plugin, you must go to github and get the server files...
STEPS TO MAKE THIS PLUGIN WORK!!!
1. get and modify firefile.php...
find any and all references to http://www.firefile.at, and remove the tag associated with them...
next find the line that reads
$currentVersion = trim(file_get_contents("........")
and remove or comment that line out;
replace it with
$currentVersion = this->;version;
2. upload the files to your server.
3. create a barebones firefile.demo.css file
it should contain some styles to test... maybe H1, H2, P tags
4. goto http://yourserver/folder_where_you_uploaded/firefile.php
5. enter a login name, and password
6. after successful login and password entry, you may need to re-upload your firefile.demo.css file
7. to back to http://yoursite.com/firefile/firefile.php
8. use the site to "login"
9. the plugin should popup and tell you it found a firefile enabled site, do you want to add it...
10. TELL IT YES
11. test it out, have a cold one(and bask in the glory that your css editing will be done with ease from this day forward) and be happy that some people choose to hack stuff when it doesn't work as expected...
if you have any problems, post a comment, and I will write up a better "Guide" to help the community, because this plugin was definately worth the effort!!!

I added firefile to my Firebug. It seems that I cannot use it unless I register; however, I am getting the following warning:
The Beta program is currently closed.
When will Firefile become available to the public again?

useless Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Impossible to register so Firefile addon is useless

Hi, apparently it's not possible to register , so not possible to use that extension.
I got this warning:
The BETA program is currently closed. Please try again soon.

I would be excited to start to code with this brilliant tool so I was wondering when about do you plan to open the registration ?

Many thanks :)

Most wanted Firebug feature ... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

But, things dont go too well with it.

@media (transform-3d), (-o-transform-3d), (-ms-transform-3d), (-moz-transform-3d), (-webkit-transform-3d)
becomes
@media not all, not all, not all, not all, not all

When i enable comments saving, suddenly the files cannot be written anymore (no write access).

I dont like the ideea of rewriting every single line and refformating unless told so, and adespite many people are asking for this, i guess it is actually a *technical* limitation.

This is nuts Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I can't tell you how useful this is. If you find yourself tweaking with CSS in Firebug and then copying it all over to your editor (and sometimes getting carried away and doing too much so that you forgot what you edited, like me), this is going to streamline your coding like you won't believe. A tiny hassle to set up. Tiny. You can do it.

This is a donate add-on for sure. (No, I'm not friends with the creator)

Best extension next to firebug for FIrefox period Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Oh my god I can't believe how much this will change my workflow. No more alt tabbing between firefox and an editor and you can see the changes live. THANK YOU very much for writing this addon.

Bug Found and Fixed Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks for this add-on. This saves a lot of time of mine. Mainly I'm here to inform that when I use styles like

#header .links a + a

.. the addon replaces the '+' with a space. I search the plugin for a while and found the fix. In the php file, in line 227,

function getPost64($param) {
if(isset($_POST[$param])) {
return urldecode(base64_decode($_POST[$param]));
}
}

.. just use rawurlencode instead of urlencode. Thats all. Hope this fix helps who use styles like me. :)

WARNING Rated 1 out of 5 stars

WARNING: this... well, nothing to say abt addon itself -- but a serverside script creates a file <config.php> near to self *automatically* without *any* warnings/confirmations *regardless* of such file already here.

This killed my CMS in a few seconds. Serverside should b used inside of own directory only.
