At first I assumed that Firebug would only be useful for debugging Javascript, but as I've been using it I've slowly discovered that JS is only one of the many things it excels at. The addon's usefulness in debugging CSS issues is incredible, and it's also just useful for figuring out how today's modern applications work "under the hood". I agree with Baz that this should be bundled with Firefox instead of DOM inspector.

The one thing I wish Firebug would do better is allow for nicer chrome debugging, which would help out with developing Firefox extensions and other internals (I'm still afraid of Venkman, though I'm sure I'll come around to it eventually). There's an extension called ChromeBug that attempts to do this, but I've had severe stability issues with it.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.05).
