Hi, I love your addon! :)

There is a sidebar-bug:
If I want to open the sidebar (strg+b or strg+h), the Firefox-window is getting wider and offscreen at the right side. And sometimes it crashes buttons in the right tabbar.
Tested on Xubuntu 11.04 with Firefox 7.0.1 and only your addon installed. Maybe it happens on Windows, too.

Thanks for your work.

That's a weird bug, although I admit I didn't test for sidebar compatibility at the time (never thought it'd be an issue). I'll be sure to check it out and try to fix it for the next version if I can.

Also, it doesn't seem to happen on windows, at least for me. Can anyone please confirm to me if this only happens on Xubuntu or if it also happens in any other linux distro?

Good replacement of Find Toolbar Tweaks add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great add-on, specially when combined with "Find To Center" add-on.

Here's an enhancement suggestion: add the possibility to ignore accents when searching.

Google ignores accents.
In my opinion, FindBar Tweak should have the same behavior.

Very useful; some minor improvements possible. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Quicksaver did a fine job making this add-on, imo. It belongs in the list of add-ons that fix little annoyances in an addictive way. Once, after installing, you'll never be able to keep your cool when using your moms firefox...
So anyway, big thanks! I have lots of respect for you and people like you who do magical stuff for free for everyone to enjoy!

Some minor improvements possible. I found some users mentioning it as well; I trust you're still open to evaluate this: highlighting behavior and highlighting delay. I read your earlier replies and I hope you appreciate me sharing my experience on these particular topics as well.
1. Highlighting behavior. I think the 'smart background-aware, inverted highlighting' is neat in theory. In practice it makes it potentially harder to oversee the highlighted parts, because two main colors are used: the highlight color and black. Currently the method is too aggressive. On most relevant websites (dark text/light back) it will turn my yellow highlighter into black (plus invert), while I'm sure I could see if highlighted just in yellow.
I hope you can add an option for a 'dumb' highlighter and/or a _much_ less content-aware one. We nerds love choice and control!
2. Highlighting delay. This part could be a tighter in that area. Perhaps add an option to set the minimum amount of characters from which the highlight-all function automatically kicks in.

That's it. I'm gonna continue using your add-on happily. Thanks again for your work and have a great day!

1. You're true in saying you're not the only one asking about this. I will see if I can do something about changing this somehow.
2. I had an idea for a change to this feature that hopefully will make everyone happy, I just haven't added it yet for lack of time, so (everyone) just hang tight a little longer.

Glad to hear you like the add-on,

excellent! highlight all by default and use the regular search as you type instead of the quick search works perfectly!

only the highlight colors are a bit wrong - why not use the default highlight color?

Near perfect... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The other find bar tweak I used to use (I think some of us know the one) didn't play well. This one works much better, but I'd like to have an add-on bar button so I can pop the search bar up at will. I use it like that because of a trick where I can copy words from a web page without actually copy/pasting.

Installed this because it displays a count of the find results. Works excellently.

I set "Delay highlights if search item is shorter than" a bit higher than the default to improve performance.

Great add-on!

But somehow it feels like switching between tabs take longer now. Is it just me or can somebody confirm?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.2.1-signed).

Indeed there are a few operations the add-on must perform sometimes when switching tabs (the first time the tab is opened, when a page load occurs, something else happens...) but it is not with every tab switch and I've tried to keep this process as fast as possible. I make an effort with almost every release to try and improve this, I hope it's hardly noticeable anymore and it doesn't interfere with your browsing.

Must Have! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works fine on every machine!

Great customization!Do you think you could move the bar about 1 pixel up when in the top configuration? Currently, the webpage squeezes in that one pixel and moving it would eliminate this verrry small quirk.

EDIT: I figured it out; it was because of another extension. It's fixed now

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.2.1-signed).

It's not supposed to have that pixel. Could you please contact me (email or support site, whichever you prefer is fine) and give me some information about your firefox profile? Especially what operating system you're on, firefox version, themes/personas, other extensions... Even stylish scripts that affect the window layout could be causing this.

EDIT: ok

Awesome, thank you a ton for adding the (13 of 15 hits). I love this add-on. I'm telling everyone I know that uses Firefox to grab this. Keep up the good work.

Wonderful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

After years' searches and trials, there is finally a unified findbar/highlight solution! Nice work!

A few observations: once installed or related preferences are changed (e.g. change highlight color), if "Show highlights grid in the scrollbar" is checked, no highlight will be shown until Firefox is restarted. Also, after highlight color is changed, only the highlight grid color is updated. The color in the web page needs Firefox restart.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.4.1-signed).

I did notice that the highlights color aren't updated until a restart if your firefox is set to apply the changes immediately on change, it is already fixed in the latest version 0.5.2, you can find it by clicking the "View all versions" at the bottom of the add-on page. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Now when you say the highlights don't show until firefox is restarted, that's serious, do you mean the highlights in general aren't shown or only the grid highlights aren't shown and everything else is fine? I can't reproduce any of these bugs, could you please tell me what operating system and firefox version you're using? And also would you mind trying to disable all other add-ons except for FindBar Tweak and see if it still does that, to rule out incompatibilities?
