In FireFox 43 this plugin even blocks Ctrl-F and other "page search" functionality.
For those that, like me, need this add-on to work in a "firefox" browser, I suggest migrating to Pale Moon 24.5.0. Will still work fine.
I am using Firefox 25 on Ubuntu 12.04.
I discovered today that CTRL+F no longer activates the Find bar, and even Edit > Find does not work.
I loved this extension. I am certainly aware how much work it takes to write and maintain a project like this, and so I understand why the author has decided to discontinue it after all this time.
I would just like to say that it was a quality piece of software that was a joy to use. Thank you to the author for all the hard work that has been put into it. I am sincerely grateful!
Thank you for your kind words!
Find All is an excellent addon. It replaces any manual count of a searched string on any webpage.
Please make it work with Firefox 25.0 and future versions.
Please see previous comment's reply.
Ctrl+F stopped working in firefox 25 with "Find All" extension enabled. Please fix it.
Find All will not be updated for Firefox 25. I suggest using FindBar Tweak instead. I updated the add-on description and requested Mozilla to enforce the max. compatible version.
>>Now, if this add-on is enabled with FF25 the edit---> Find (Ctrl+F) does not do anything. Without this add-on "Find" operates as it should.<<
I found that if you ALSO install Find Button 1.0.4 (which places a Find icon on your tool bar), you can click on this icon to open Find All. The Find icon replaces Ctrl+F.
Now if I could figure out how to get Find All to display its list starting at the top of a web page, as opposed to the bottom, I would be all set.
I have been using this add-on for a long time.
Now, if this add-on is enabled with FF25 the edit---> Find (Ctrl+F) does not do anything.
Without this add-on "Find" operates as it should.
Can you add options for sort results? e.g. abc order (alphabetical order)... or some Regular Expressions to find among a lot of results?
All is good but we need that!
i like this extension, but it can be incredibly slow when finding all instances of a stringi was recently forced to terminate firefox after using it because it would no longer respond - in this instance it found over 975 matches, but never listed them after about 5 minutes
Notepad++ listed all matches (and surrounding words) in less than a second
Currently, Find All is optimized for searching HTML documents, not plain text. I'll try to address this in a future release.
Fully working in my XP with FF 21.0.
A• An option to change the background list.
B• An option to change the font color.
C• An option to change and/or disable the font shadow. (Realy i have to force my eyes to read)
D• A second animation targeting design (to let the user chose one or other) a little bit more smoothly. (I happened an animation's half size, circles with more thickness, changeable color, changeable animation time, and an option to play it twice)
E• I tried "Findbar Favorites" (here in AMO), and your add-on align to the most right of the findbar the words that Findbar Favorites add-on add to the findbar. Could you make it "compatible"? Is very interesting and usefull that add-on too.
Nothing more. Forgive my bad english, and keep doing good stuff. Thanks for the space.
This only searches the open tab. Could you make an option to search all open tabs like "Find in all tabs" did?
"Find in all tabs" was a very useful addon but has not worked properly since FF 3.6. Lots of people are looking for a replacement for this.
Usefull addon. Small suggestion: Option to have it on top instead of the bottom of window page/Firefox.
Good addon. My suggestions:
1. Show number of current find result on the Search bar. Row hint is inconveniently.
2. Show result in the center of web page. If web page was scroll to the right after previous search, next match result could be invisible at all. Standard search (I use FF14) shows matches much better.
3. Imho current match must be brighter others. It shouldn't be grey background color. Best off all add these color settings.
Needed a plugin that does exactly what this one does. I was checking my log files, they are pure text, nearly 10k lines each, on one of them, i click the Find All button, said there was 240 matches, but before it can show me which ones or highlight the matches, kept getting errors to continue or stop the script, firefox stopped responding, and had to restart it.
why replace highlight? why not add its own button
You can choose to show the Highlight All button in the options.
Appreciation and Bug report
This addon worked perfectly for about 5 days even when I was using it along with other find bar related addons. But now the Find All window covers most of the webpage I am viewing(pic below). Worse, I am not able to resize the Find All window by dragging the separator bar either. This has made the addon useless for me. It was a wonderful addon when it did work which is why I give it 4 stars. I have also tried to disable other find bar related addons, but that seems to be having no positive effect on Find All.
See an example here: http://www.limepic.com/?v=vwyhL.gif
You can see that even when there are only 4-5 find results to highlight, the addon window has covered most of the screen space.
I'd be glad if the developer replies to my review.
Please visit the add-on home page [http://www.codedawn.com/contact.php] to report bugs. Thanks!
Thank you! Definitely 5 stars.
I agree with Svobodniy about search in all opened tabs as in "Find In Tabs". Without it only 3 stars.
When used with the Download Statusbar extension the results appear below the bar and the buttons above.
Other than that, it's perfect(to me).
Nice job. Good addon.
But ... according to the description:
"You can scroll through the list to easily see the context of each found result and jump to the part of the web page you want by clicking on a list item. "
"Jump to the part of the web page by clicking on a list item." doesn't work for me. I saw a different review for version 3.2 mentioning that. Any idea about this issue? I am using FF7.0.1.
Thank you for trying out Find All. I'm unable to reproduce the bug you're describing. Would you mind sending me what OS you're using and a list of your currently installed add-ons (via http://www.codedawn.com/contact.php)?
please set Ctrl+F to close search-bar.
Very useful and one of my favorite add-ons! Still working in Firefox 6.0.If you choose to update this add-on, I am unable to use the alternate row feature because I use white text and the alternate row light gray shading makes the text nearly impossible to read. Otherwise this is 5 stars all the way!
Can you add the functionality of dead addon "Find In Tabs" (https://addons.mozilla.org/ru/firefox/addon/find-in-tabs/) - search in all opened tabs? It would be great!
1) Search results (hilighted) can display below currently displayed portion of window - confusing.
2) "Find all" listing does not respond to mouse clicks to select one for viewing.
Very useful but I found that jumping to a result by clicking the search result line doesn't work on all pages.
e.g. ist doesn't work on http://bit.ly/lAj290
@zhngmyfirefox: All of what you criticize works, try it out in a new plain profile.
