printf(L"BEST ADDON EVER");
the extension made me actually use rss.
i have tried other feed readers (wizz, sage), but i found them confusing and have been planning to learn about their interface, but i just never found the time. this one, however, is extremely simple and pretty obvious on how it works. i agree with the other guy that it could probably use a bit more configurability - a hotkey to force reload without showing sidebar comes into mind, for example, or a statusbar icon with the functionality.
i would also like to see an extension with the functionality of this and update scanner, but this one does its job fine, and it "just works", so i'm giving it a 5/5.
also, good job making sure the extension works with latest betas/rcs, i hate how my AioS stopped working now that i'm on rc..
Nice and it opened quickly. However, I like the way Sage lists all the articles of a selected feed in a tab in the main window. It gives more of an area to scan the article headlines and further narrow down my selections. So, while some people like the fact that the feed remains in a side bar, I would rather have the ability to open a particular feed in a main window, under a tab. Other than that, it seems very useful, but cramped in the sidebar.
Best feed reader I've tried so far. Although, there are some features that I'd like to see.
-The option to move the feed sidebar to the right side.
-Icon flashing and sound notification when a new update is found.
-The option for continuous updating even though you aren't showing the sidebar.
Thanks for a great addon.
I like this add-on's interface very much...even better than sage, but like the previous former-sage-user who reviewed this, there's one make-or-break feature that would make all the difference:
"1. When i reload the feeds and new articles are available in a feed, can you either boldface the feed name or add a symbol to the folder to signify new articles are available?"
Add this and i'm sold.
Very good, it was just what I was looking for: a simple and fast feed reader.
Good 2-pane lightweight reader that does what it's supposed to. Summaries seems to be preloaded so there's no lag, unlike, say, Brief.
I really hope you'd consider these two features, which will bring this extension close to perfection:
1. Keep the original Firefox bookmark folder hierarchy in the display pane, instead of pulling out all the Live Bookmark folders into a flat list. Many users (like me) spend much time organizing and categorizing their bookmark folders for a reason - so that they know where everything is and can zoom in on what we want quickly.
2. Don't open all the news feed folders by default. Heavy news feed users will have hundreds of items and the list becomes so long it's hard to navigate to the feed you want.
Good job but I hope it keeps getting better! Thanks.
Nice add-on, but it would be nice to customize it.
Works nicely with the all-in-one sidebar.
