Simple, easy-to-use RSS reader with a small memory footprint. Some people have complained about how it displays feeds (i.e., in the sidebar rather than in a dropdown menu), but since there are plenty of other add-ons that offer a dropdown menu, different strokes for different folks. Personally, I like the sidebar method.

There are a few other limitations, however, that prevent me from giving a 5-star rating:
1) It presents a stupid error message every time it can't access a feed. I have a couple of feeds that are only available once a week or so, and since I have the feeds update every half hour, I have to see those annoying messages dozens of times a day. Would love to have an option to turn the messages off.
2) It locks up after closing the sidebar, preventing any actions and requiring a restart to return to functionality.
3) It would be nice if it had an unread counter on the toolbar icon, so that if the sidebar is closed, you know how many items are waiting. While it's nice that there's a popup message indicating when new items arrive, if you're not watching constantly, you don't really know about all the new items.
4) Speaking of the popup messages, the descriptions in these messages don't always match with the new items that are added - it seems like they're sometimes out of sync.

If even some of the above items were addressed (especially items #1 and #2), Feed Sidebar would absolutely be worth 5 stars.

Very useful Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's a great way of organising my feeds. Very useful. Thanks for conceiving and maintaining it!

A dropdown menu would be less awkward than the outdated sidebar-concept.

awesome extension but I've some features request if possible:

1 - add a button to mark the selected item as read (and IMHO moving the mark all as read to the bottom as a bigger one to distinct it from others)

2 - add a "view" that shows in the sidebars only the subscribed feeds (with number of unread items) and when clicked open a tab (splitted horizontally or vertically) with all the selected feed items in one pane, and the content of the selected item in the other one

I know that the purpose of Feed sidebar is to be more lightweight, but I'll be very glad if I can have such features ;)

Печально, но не работает на моем PaleMoon (firefox 24.5.0) устанавливается , панель открывается, но ничего не отображается... даже те стандартные три ленты что в настройках не работают... :((
Ведь не старый еще FF 24, можно поправить?

Lightweight goodness Rated 5 out of 5 stars

All you need; nothing you don't.
(Actual rating: 4 and a half stars -- minus one half for sidebar buttons (padding) being to wide to all fit on default-width sidebar; easy to fix with CSS though.)

Fantastic Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Does exactly what I needed, and nothing more. Wouldn't mind an OPML import, but that's not hard to do manually.

You could import your OPML with one of my other addons, OPML Support: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/opml-support/

Works as expected, just little glitch in Fx29 - toolbar is broken. I see all possible Fx icons in it.
//edit:
Just perfect :)

Optional additional icon? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Is there any way you could add in an optional set of toolbar icons which falls inline with firefox 4's grey/white icons?

Not so great Rated 1 out of 5 stars

When it works, it's really good...but it fails multiple times each day. I have to constantly uninstall the addon and then reinstall it again. I wish there was something that could be done to make it work consistently, it's so frustrating

Perfect Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great add-on. The only thing I’ve wanted in Firefox. I may never use Thunderbird anymore.

Everything one needs in a RSS feed player. Must remember that this is called Feed Sidebar and not RSS Sidebar. It compliments Firefox really well.

This is the best feed reader add-on for Firefox simply because I don't need to squint to read the feed list and Firefox retains control of the zoom settings in the article pane.

Other add-ons either fail in other areas - like Sage, which could have been the best - while others could have been decent if feed lists and/or articles weren't unreadable due to font-size.

The only thing that keeps Feed Sidebar from being close to perfect is not being able to sort feeds into folders or groups (see Sage.)

Being able to sort feeds by name, date or most recently updated is fine, but unless users could rename feeds (to use with the sort-by-name option), they have to skim through all their feeds if they want to read only those on a specific subject. (And the more feeds a user has, the worse this becomes.)

(I thought I could workaround this by moving my feeds into a single bookmarks folder and arranging them in a specific order, but no luck.)

I'd like to give this add-on 4 and 1/2 stars, but since I can't I'll give it 4. If the single problem it has is fixed it'll automatically get 5 stars from me!

Configurable key combo a must! Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Improves functionality of Live Bookmarks.PLEASE make the key combination configurable, on my W7 system Ctrl-Shift-F clashes with Adblock Plus.

Good but still worse than Opera's default feed sidebar Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I'm using this after switching back from Opera. That has a great built-in feed sidebar and it's something that Firefox really lacks in a vanilla install. This is a great improvement over Firefox's lacklustre support in this area, but one thing that puts it in a lower league than Opera's default sidebar is the inability to make your own folders to put the feed folders into. For example, "Sports" for all the sports feeds, "Gaming" for all gaming feeds etc. And of course, an unread message counter for each of these folder's feeds so you don't have to keep opening up each one to check.
