Nice add-on, still works with Firefox 38. The only thing that I'd like to change about this add-on is to make it "restartless".

Thanks

I have added the feature in my current test version but unfortunately I cannot spend so much time to release it.

God knows when it will happen.

Great, now I dont have to stare at all those blank icons anymore. Still works on 38.0.5

Thanks for your review and version confirmation.

It's great if you have lots of marks. It missed several but the hundreds that it did get saved me a boatload of hassle after a fresh install and sync.

I read some reviews that said the context menu item was annoying but I just disabled the addon after I ran it. If I need it again... I will enable it.

This addon is exactly what I needed.
After synchronizing my FF bookmarks on another laptop I lost all my favicons. Via google the only advice I could find was to open each bookmark to reload the favicon. Except that I have more than 1k bookmarks...so that wouldn't work for me. Luckily I found your addon, it works perfectly, thank you! :)

EDIT:
Working now. Don't know why, just reinstalled, but it's all good :-)

Thank you very much for creating this. It makes bookmark lists much nicer and more usable, especially since Firefox doesn't sync favicons across browsers.

Hmmm

Sorry that you have problems with the AddOn.

I have tried it from FF 37.0.1 up to 39.
I found the FaviconReloader entry in the main menu and in the context menus of the content window as well as of the bookmark sidebar.

So please check your installation. Perhaps try the portable version of the browser.

Used to Work Perfectly; EDIT: WORKS PERFECTLY Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Perfect add-on, works exactly as advertised, but context menu disappeared on version 34? and up. Currently on 36.0.4

EDIT:
I have been using this program for well over a year and love it. I would right-click on the bookmarks toolbar to pull up the context menu, but that functionality disappeared somewhere along the way. I didn't know another way to run the program, but if you right-click anywhere on the page it appears in that context menu.

Highly recommend this program.

If it support after Firefox 29 native UI, more good.

Doesn't get rid of existing bad ones Rated 4 out of 5 stars

My problem was misleading favicons I wanted to remove because my printers address can change, but the favicons remain on the bad addresses. Instead of removing them, they were just left as is. Is there a way to do that?

"Reloader" implies that existing favicons will be tested again!

UPDATE: I found an addon that will delete favicons selectively via context menu that works intuitively ONLY IN CONTEXT. I ran it for the folder with the excess printer favicons and FavIcon Reloader restored the correct ones.

temporary offline sites

FF has only one method to delete Icons. This is to expire them all. But this will lead into a huge amount data transfer to get or even test all icons. Another problem will be other tools setting custom icons. The next version (god knows when it will be released) allows you to set the default icon for whole bookmark folders.

By the way: A network printer is generally not a mobile device and possibly shared by other devices. For those shared resources (printer, server...) you should consider about using static IP addresses outside the DHCP range of your router.

This is a useful add-on especially when re-installing Firefox, but it is obtrusive at times. For example, there is no reason to have an option in the page context menu to reload icons - which is something that you'll rarely do.
