About this Add-on
Unfortunately Mozilla decided to remove this feature completly instead of making it optional with the default setting being "don't display the fav-icon in location bar". Users like me, who like to have the fav-icon displayed and who are able to distinguish malicious websites from good sites by other attributes, have been ignored.
Therefore I decided to create an add-on that reverts Mozilla's decision. It displays the current site's site icon in the location bar. If the site does not provide such an icon, the default icon will be displayed.
I'm getting tired of Mozilla removing features instead of making them optional with default = deactivated. Additionally the GUI seems to become uglier with each release. Monochrome icons, yeah! Welcome back MS DOS and Windows 1.0!
Mozilla seems to copy Chrome wherever they can (version numbers, removing features, design). Well, back in 2002, when Firefox was named Phoenix, I chose this browser because it was innovative and provided many interesting features. These days seem to have gone and I miss them.
