Also, based on tests in * FF 11 * (Win) on a quad CPU, 8 GB RAM PC, 3 Mbps DSL, there was NO difference in speed using Fasterfox Lite at their Courteous or Optimized settings. Perhaps if the "Turbocharged" option was used, which unfairly increases loads on web servers, it might make a speed difference. If EVERYONE w/ a browser used "Turbocharged" type settings, it would break most sites due to overload.
There are other simple ways to speed up Firefox w/o giving up privacy rights.
Most importantly, Wips / Fasterfox Lite is COLLECTING & storing the private data. How many times have data bases of private data been hacked or negligently released by a company? The fact that Wips IS COLLECTING private data at ALL is the problem, especially for a browser addon. Knowledgeable users are running away in droves from providers, software & other internet activities that collect PRIVATE data.
IF PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE PRIVATE DATA IS COLLECTED / STORED, it's ALWAYS a possibility it will accidentally or intentionally become public. If you don't intend to use it, why collect * personally identifiable * info at all? Just filter it out.
by FURTHER stating:
"You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Wips.com and its affiliates, and each of their officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, information providers and licensors, from any claims, costs, losses, damages, judgments and expenses, including but not limited to reasonable attorney's fees, relating to or arising out of any breach of this Agreement or any use of the Service by you,..."
"Although this information may contain some PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE information, Wips.com does not use it to determine the identity of individual users or correlate it to your email address or other personally identifiable information that you give us or our affiliates, except as required by subpoenas, court orders, or other legal requirements."
"Other legal requirements" could mean anything from someone suing Wips, forcing all stored private data to become public, to Homeland Security demanding, without a court warrant, for all private data to be divulged.

Thank you Joebt,
you made some reasonable arguments and we want to discuss it.
Fasterfox is meant to help make Firefox faster on slow/low-end computers. You computer is very fast and it's obvious, that we can't help as much as we can help to slower machines.
What are we going to do now? We will:
- be much more specific and legally correct
- make the specific examples of information that we collect.
- remove any legally incorrect phrases like don't worry", or "other legal requirements"
Please contact us on email@example.com where we can discuss more details. Thank you for that and we are looking forward to it.
