how to fix on linux Rated 4 out of 5 stars

quite handy.

to make this work on linux one needs to copy the folder

platform/Linux

cp -av .mozilla/firefox/1yqlfnwv.default/extensions/{602E0D2D-7710-4d47-A32C-998398DB993D}/platform/Darwin .mozilla/firefox/1yqlfnwv.default/extensions/{602E0D2D-7710-4d47-A32C-998398DB993D}/platform/Linux

Fancy Numbered Tabs is a must add on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hey Now,
Fancy Numbered Tabs is a must add on. It's so good, just works & makes better use of the screen replacing the close x with a number.
Thx,
Catto

This is a very usefull addon, if u don't want to browse all your opend tabs and you want to jump directly to it (saves time).I understand that the keys are limited, but it should had been at least 10, starting with Ctrl 0 --- Ctrl 9, i'm shure there is a reason why this wasn't made. When i was using this addon, an idea poped up, wouldnt be nice to close a tab by the same principle. Let's say i have 5 tabs opend (yahoo-1, google-2, wikipedia-3, firefox-4, microsoft-5) the curent one is google-2, and i want to close the firefox-4 tab, we can do that by pressing for example Ctrl+Shift+4,... or we can close it with the mouse :D ... I hope you get the idea where i'm going at, and i think it's usefull.

I wanna "overwrite the close tab button code" support.(I wanna use it with lot of themes.)And I wanna more numbers like 9,10,11,12 etc.

Jep, 4 icons, 2 numbers, 2 crosses Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Looks like this with standard firefox theme on Ubuntu:
http://transformer.webhop.net/css/img/4icons.png

It's a fantastic feature and should be integrated in Firefox by default. But with the '4 icons bug' it's useless since that takes to much horizontal space.

Great add-on but needs a little TLC Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love this add-on and have used it for months, but it does have issues. It seems to work perfectly with some themes, such as PitchDark, but with others, like Chromifox, I get what Mia Junk reports - four icons, rather than one. They're the four versions of the icon, but instead of changing with their function, they're all shown lined up together (as in #XX#).

Some themes, such as Aquatint Black Gloss and Aquatint Redone treat it differently still, in that there seem to be more than one icon as above, but only the center of it is shown, so it looks like two different halves. Unlike Mia Junk, I do not have tons of add-ons installed, and the tab-related ones I have are Ctrl+Tab, Duplicate Tab, Submit to Tab (disabled), Tab Counter, Tab Scope, and Undo Closed Tabs.

Disabling Fancy Numbered Tabs, restarting FF, and enabling the add-on again, and other work-arounds don't seem to help. I currently have FF 3.0.4 but I've had this issue with previous builds. Regardless, it does seem to work properly in any state, so this is primarily a cosmetic issue, albeit a pretty annoying one. I hope this is fixed and updated soon. In the meantime, I may try the two newer tab numbering add-ons.

Almost Wonderful Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Strangely, the only tab which shows it's number is the currently active tab. any ideas why it would do this? I'm using the FF 3.0.4 for my Mac (OSX 10.4.11). I have very few add-ons installed ('Adblock Plus', 'CustomizeGoogle', 'FoxyTunes', and 'Research Word'), so I don't think it's due to that.
I hope this quirk is fixable 'cause i really like the idea of this add-on!
thanks - rock-on...

I need this! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Fancy Numbered Tabs is an outstanding add-on idea and implementation. However the add-on installation on my FF 3.03 does display differently than I expected. After installing this add-on I expected the close icon on the tab to display the tab number, but it does not. It displays four identically sized icons, the first and fourth icon showing the tab number and the second and third displaying the close tab cross. My expectation was that only one numbered icon would be displayed on the tab replacing the close tab icon and for this to be displayed on the active tab as well. Whilst all other tabs display this way, the active tab does not show any of these icons until it is no longer active.

This unusual behavior is undoubtedly due to the fact that I have a large number of FF add-on extensions installed (approx 160 today). More than one of these add-ons are tab function related. So I would not be surprised if there was some conflict between Fancy Numbered Tabs and one or more of these other add-ons. The specific tab related add-ons I use are Bookmark Current Tab Set, Close Duplicate tabs, Closy, Colorful Tabs, Control Tabs (disabled), Mutliple Tab Handler, Next/Previous Tab, Open Image in New tab, Open Tab Count, removetabs, SortBySize, Tab Catalog, Tab Control, Tab Focus, Tab Mix Plus, Tab Session History, Tab Scroller, URL Lister, Zaru. All of these have excellent feature sets as does Fancy Numbered Tabs. Open Tab Count is good for the total number of open tabs but Fancy Numbered Tabs provides a clearly visible number on each tab which is very useful at times to recall which tab you want to go back to. Great work I really appreciate it. Thank you.

Hmm Rated 4 out of 5 stars

How about text-generated tabs (so that the font is anti-aliased and changes with interface font size) and images that fit with the local Strata variation? I find it looking a little weird on my WinVista, since it used to be blue and silky.
Great extension other than that.

Nice, but missing an important feature Rated 3 out of 5 stars

It would be nice if there were an option to put the numbers to the left/right (user configurable) of the favicon. This is because some users (myself) disable the close tab button.

awesome! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

this is AWESOME to speed up navigation on laptops, when you don't have a mouse. Makes easier to navigate than moving on the touchpad. Only problem with 1.2 is that there are 4 buttons per tab - ex: 1XX1 , 2XX2... - at least on firefox for linux.

should make it so that the numbering goes as high as there are tabs open. The shortcut may not work as it is now but can have it instead open a window where in you type the number of the tab you want to go to if you hit CTRL + 0. That way tabs 1-8 are quicklinked and the rest are still reachable.

Idea for an update! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

very useful addon. I like it. keep up the good work. HOWEVER Is it possible to have the numbers go on continuously counting all open tabs after number 8????? please develop such an addon since other extensions with that functionality, do not make the tab count on the tab itself. Your way is very crafty and neat. Thanks in advance
