One Of The Best Extensions Ever Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I regularly use a ton of tabs. When this extension stopped being supported I edited the CSS file and created new images to support tabs up to 200. Unfortunately, when Australis hit (FF v28.0) the extension stopped working. I can't believe nobody ever came along and updated this for another version of Firefox. It seems impossible that we'll ever have anything like this for FF v28.0+.

There is another number tab extension out there, but it doesn't look as good aesthetically and it isn't over the close button (something I really loved). For anybody looking though, that extension is called "Tab Numbers".

If any extension writers out there would like to do the code for this extension to be Australis compatible, I would be happy to provide all of the graphics. I could easily make graphics all the way up to 999, though I personally have trouble keeping FF from crashing past 300 =P

I usually have 60-120 tab on firefox. My job is reading web contain every day and watch, compare, the modification of certain website.

It's possible to have each tab with a number ?

More then 8 tabs? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Useful extension with a nice look. I'm using it with Vimperator and Tree Style Tab addons.
Is it possible to have numbered more then 8 tabs?

more than 8! Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Great idea and graphics, but it would be soooo great to number more than 8 - it's ok if the font will be small - I'm obsessed with tabs! Thanks!

One more problem is that if tab is locked, no Close box is present so the tab does not show a number.

Would be better to still show the tab number without the close box than no number at all.

Cleaver but numbers only 1-8 tabs Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I'm glad You have updated this small but fancy add-on. Currently I'm using v1.3 which works just great with FF v3.5.2 + default Strata + Personas. Now with numbers it's much easily for me to locate certain tabs when I'm doing search with Find In All Tabs extension. I love the cleaver idea for place of numbers. All other "counting" extension stretches name of tabs or show only amount of opened tabs/windows. The only issue is that it numbers tabs only from 1 to 8. If there are more tabs all other tabs have simple "x" button. Thanks again for Your effort!!

I love this extension and went ahead and just tweaked it one tiny bit to make it FF3.5 compatible. You can get it from here until the official version appears:

http://elzr.com/else/fancy_numbered_tabs-1.2-fx.xpi

Literally all I changed was one single character, the maximum version number compatible. Nothing at all seems to break in FF3.5.

(As an extra tip, there's a FF extension to force incompatible extensions to install: NIghtly Tester tools: http://www.oxymoronical.com/web/firefox/nightly )
