The Fake Domain Detective add-on for Firefox helps prevent against fake domain
attacks. These are websites created to impersonate another for malicious
purposes. Fake domain attacks have been observed on independent media
and civil society websites, which instead serve malware or alternative
information to their users. See our report
for more details.
The Fake Domain Detective add-on for Firefox will let you know if you accidentally
visit a known fake domain and redirect you to original website,
notifying you of the thwarted attack. It also provides a mechanism for
reporting new potential fake domains to be included in the plugin.
