It installs a toolbar!
Won't let me add on Facebook notification alert through Foxfire browser
The worst firefox addon ever.
Love the Privacy Statement! It goes with todays standards even more, and getting worse.
useless and spammy toolbar
Asks for way too many permissions. The reason given sounds bogus. Not recommended.
Sadly can't be adding zero point. Where are you? Hey, developer!!!!! Why is this still on the market if it do nothing??? Why you not delete it from? Why? WHY??? I am very very angry now! Sh1t... :( The last update was in january 2012 !!!???? DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT!!!
We all lost reachest possibility in Facebook :( Therefore, Facebook by yourself offer us bad and poor addition - all they's applications work not good, people they think of stupid sheep... Please, fix this problem and you will be the best again!
This addon is still broken, and it has been far more than the 24 hours mentioned in the description for a fix.
it's unnecessary to allow you to access my private FB data, if you claim you wouldn't use the user's private for other uses, than why you have to get permission to access the user's private data before serve the users
marck is very smart he creates,he is innovator, the staff of mozilla too (big things) do you think to make an simple addon you deserve to obtain what they have got please!!! they deserve almost anything to innovator, i hope what you give all your information about your family to be fair dont you?
It would be fun if you could fix the BUG of having the SHARE button from showing up after REMOVING it from the toolbar everytime. Apart from that...looks like a good product! Thanks
1. Installs surreptitiously (goodness knows how, but there are a lot of people out there for whom it appeared out of nowhere). Possibly misrepresented as something else to trick people to install?
I really appreciate that you've made the only Facebook notification icon in Firefox. It was quite frustrating to search "facebook notifier" and find 6 pages of things that are completely NOT Facebook notifiers, and then finally your extension. With that said, it could use some more configuration than just what it notifies you about. I'm speaking from the perspective of one who only uses the notification icon and not any other feature in the extension, and I'd like to configure things like how often it checks FB for notifications, whether or not it removes the number from the icon when I go to FB, and whether or not it opens FB in a new tab. You should probably also use the new tab function that doesn't open a second tab when the only tab open is on about:blank, rather than the function that opens a new tab no matter what (I can't remember the exact code).
I will be working these ideas into the next upcoming versions, all great ideads btw!
not sure about the ability of making the messages dissapear but I wll look into it.
I would like to also see the option to only show the facebook button without the share button.
I like to keep my browser as clean as possible.
ok 10.3, works!!! wohoooo
I just needed to clear the browser history and stuff like that.
I have the same issue as evilkittens. I can no longer see any notifications in the button.
I'm using Windows 7 64bit OS and Firefox 9.0.1
Still it's the best Facebook tool around and all you have to do is to click on it every now and then to check for any new activities on your FB account.
When I first began to use this add-on I would've given it a solid 4 out of 5 stars but now I'm afraid I have to drop the rating to 3 out of 5 stars just because of the issues with not being able to see any new notifications when hovering the pointer over the button.
recent facebook updates have made a few changes and updates are comin shortly
for now if you click this link it should work again,
I used to like this extension, but now, I can't see the notifications. Am I the only one?
So far, this add on is pretty awesome. I love not having to keep Facebook open in a new tab anymore. It was a memory hog. I recently switched back from Chrome after using it since it launched. It now sucks, much like Firefox did a couple years ago. Now, Firefox seems to have fixed their issues with memory leaks and streamlined the whole product. I'll be using it until Google decides to put some more real work into Chrome.
But also, Chrome doesn't have an extension like this, which makes me want to stay here.
The only thing I wish is that I could move the toolbar button to the far right, next to my gmail notifier. I don't like it over with my nav buttons at all.
I'm writing this review because author of this addon said that Firefox is in deciline becuase most users of add-ons don't give anything back. Not money nor reviews. As I'm quite unable to donate so I'll write a review.
This add-on saved me a lot of time for I no longer need need to check Facebook every few hours for new messages, requests etc It also will help you if you like to share links with friends. You'll be able to share websites without opening FB.
One of the best features (and reason why I use this extension) is option to toogle between toolbar and button mode.
Still this add-on could do with some improvements. But all of them are minor so for the price you pay (nothing) it's awesome. I hope author will continue to update it along new Firefox versions.
Edit: Added review title.
It helps me to keep track of the notifications in facebook with out the need to visit the full page and also the screenshot option in the tool bar allows us to capture the screen in a png format which is a bonus. It was further accelerated by bing search .All in all it is fantastic addon to use in firefox
This add on meets the expectations. It does provide you with a quick and easy way to check your facebook account. The only downside is the choice of using bing as search engine. Thank you and keep up the good work.
