I have 60+ add-ons enabled at any given time so scrolling through the Add-ons Manger, locating an add-on, opening its options, and then having to go back and repeat the process is a bit too time consuming for me, so I really appreciate having much quicker access to my add-on's options.
I also like the added features such as enabling/disabling add-ons via a click, the restart option, the toolbar button menu, as well as the others.
I know that this add-on has been available for a long time, I'm just sorry that I didn't install it a few years back.
Thanks for developing, and maintaining it.
I love being able to access extension options without having to launch the whole addons page.
Супер! Класс!! Выше всяческих похвал!!!
Works perfectly and even though i have over 50 addons installed it doesn't lag a bit popping up the menu.
Right-click to open about:addons and the ability to hide entries is all the functionality you could wish for.
Broken in OS X Lion
The extension options do not launch when trying to click on them.
Approximately 200 people are currently using this extension on OS X. Although I can't personally check, that leads me to believe it should work. I would imagine you either have some profile corruption or there is a conflict with another extension. This is not a good place for us to communicate. Please use the support site if you need help.
Good extension manager, is it possible to add a "check for updates of all extensions" menu please?
I won't be adding that option. That's too far outside the scope of this add-on.
Nice app, very useful. I have a question Is it possible to integrate "Extension option " menubar to "Add-ons" menebar in Thunderbird?
It's not currently easily possible. When Firefox got the title bar menu, Mozilla added a menu type called "splitmenu" that makes that possible. It's not in Thunderbird yet. When a title bar menu is added to Thunderbird, I will add the option to this extension.
Wow! Thanks for the new features in 2.0. Thanks for making sure it works on Nightly (and Aurora, and Beta), too.
This is one of the add-ons I would really miss, if it wouldn't work.
Absolutely useful:you can change every extension's options on the fly without having to enter in the addon manager, scrolling the list and so on-a great addon
Great extension. But please, see the appearance of the Firefox menu when 'show in titlebar menu' is disabled:
The right side becomes shorter than normal and looks ugly.
Thanks for the report. I will fix it in the next version. In the English version that entry is smaller than the other entries so the missing padding does not create a problem. I need to get the latest version I'm working on localized. That will take a few days and it's usually a few weeks after I post an update before Mozilla completes the review. It will take 3-4 weeks.
I'm sorry to bother the developer again, but can you please add an option to hide the extensions without any options dialog (It's useless to have them in the list) , just show the disabled/enabled extensions? Check out the screenshot I took: http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/3536/screenshot2011092616040.png (I want the boxed names removed). Thanks:) *Edit 2* Thanks so much for the added feature:)
I will look into this soon. If it's easy, I'll do it. I'll probably add another hidden setting like the ShowAll one (maybe ShowDisabled.)
edit:New beta 1.24beta3 has new options - see release description. If you still have disabled extensions (without options) you want to hide you will have to add them to the blacklist.
Wonderfully easy way to get to extension options. Can this be made compatible with Personal Menu? If you have Personal Menu installed, the default setting (integration with the Add-Ons menu entry--which looks great, from screenshots) causes "Add-Ons" to disappear from the menu. Fortunately, I know how to get back to Add-Ons (about:addons) to change the default, but, still, it was very disconcerting. Great effort!
I had a quick look at Personal Menu. It is a fairly complex extension. It looks like it regenerates the menu every time it is opened. I don't see an easy way to integrate the two. The best thing I can come up with is, you can add the 'Extension Options' menu from the tools menu, but it will be a separate entry instead of the split menu like the screenshots.
This is the one crucial piece of the old MR Tech Toolkit extension I sorely missed. Thanks so much for coding this up!
1.22 (waiting in sandbox...) has now all add-ons available at view. Thanks! -- When you have 60+ add-ons as i do, this is really the cherry on the cake of what was already a most valuable extension. Not to say, but always having a look at "All versions" is the only way to get the latest updates to an add-on when the success and the number of add-ons for Mozilla products is so wide that it is understandable that delays between update and approval are of the lot.
Huzzah! Thanks for this. I recently upgraded to TB 6 from 3.x and was missing the old Options Menu extension by James Skinner, which doesn't work with the new way addons are handled. Looks like this does the same simple thing and works well as far as I can tell.
Great extension ... thanks also for Addon Update Checker which is a great replacement for the no longer supported Update Notifier add-on. Almost have all the extension functionality back now that was lost with the advent of FF4 :-)
Awesome. I missed this functionality once MrTech's Toolkit ceased to be updated, but found this mentioned on his addon's page and it blows his out the water.
Aesthetically pleasing, in both tools menu and the Firefox menu. Invaluable.
Perfect, I love it!
I wish only 1 enhancement: a 1-click button to add to the status bar, because I was used to have it with another addon that doesn't work anymore ;)
Right-click on the Add-ons (status) bar and select "Customize..." You should be able to drag "Extension Options" to the bar. That will add the menu and on right-click, will open the full Add-ons manager page. If that's not what you mean please post on the website/support page.
This Extension for Firefox 4.0.* revives the functionality of the James R. Skinner Extension Options Menu (last used in Firefox 3.5.*), with additional preferences not available in the earlier Extension; it is a real time-saver for those who have to tune Extensions often.
I use this in conjunction with the Merci chao Extension Personal Menu in Firefox 4.0.*, placing its folder betwixt Options and Help in the right App Menu column.
It would be much more usefull, if one could select which addons to display. Because if all are displayed, only half the way is done by means of usability. You only need a hand full of addon options on-the-fly - or you have to many addons.
Starting with version 1.22 there is a hidden blacklist option. In about:config (in url bar) filter by extensions.ExtensionOptionsMenu.BlackList and add full names of extensions you don't want listed separated with a comma (not the easiest way, but at least it's something. I may add it to the options page some day.)
The ONE toolbar button I was missing since I upgraded to Fx4 and had to uninstall MR Tech Toolkit is now back.
You sir, are awesome.
Working great, tnx :)
Just make icon green ;)
Great idea and great addon! Just a suggestion: The button can be a "menu-button" and, I think, the usability will be better...
If you mean I should stop hiding the drop marker, that is how version 1.13 will work (not reviewed as of this posting, but you can get it by clicking on Version 1.12 on the bottom of this page in the release notes box.) If not, please post on http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=2141579 so I can get more info.
