This add-on certainly has great potential. However, under current build (Firefox 41, latest version of add-on), I have to first select the text then "right click" before I can use the keyboard shortcut ctrl+alt+C to copy as plain text. This is really a pain and I feel like it shouldn't be designed like that. I can imagine how convenient it would be if I could simply use add that "alt" to regular ctrl+C when I want copy as plain text, but now the requirement of right-clicking is ruining all the convenience. I really hope this is not intended and can be fix in the future.
must have for a tech guy
If you find an add on useful please support the Programer they take the pain and therefore should be paid by any mean possible.
Disclaimer: I am no where in contact with this programer but found his work useful
One of the most useful Firefox extensions. I have used this extension for years and find it most useful for pasting things into Libreoffice Calc as formatted text can be annoying in Spreadsheets. I find Extended Copy Menu more useful than the basic copy plain text because it also haves the copy as html feature which is nice as well.
Aside from Tab Mix Plus, this is my favorite add-on for Firefox. I'm a blogger, and I often have to copy text from web pages to paste into WordPress. As anyone who works with blogging software knows, sometimes pasting in brings over HTML formatting you don't want, and having to deal with the Paste As text thing gets tedious when you literally do this copy/paste operation 100 times a day.
The Copy As Plain Text option makes the whole thing simple and straightforward. And it's SO, SO wonderful that it comes with a keyboard shortcut. So many other extensions of this type make you use the mouse.
I also use he Copy As HTML command more than I thought I would when I first started using this add-on. Again, it's very useful when blogging or doing web design because I can see exactly what's behind how text is formatted on a page and then just strip out the bits I don't need.
If you copy text from the web a lot and find you have to keep taking the formatting out, then get this add-on. It will simplify your life.
Cet outil permet d'ajouter au menu contextuel des options de copie supplémentaire, dont un très pratique "Copier en texte brut" une fois qu'un texte est sélectionné sur une page web. Testé sous FF 9.0.1.
Used override and had no problems with previous version or this one. I agree that this add-on is so essential that it should be part of Firefox. I use it all the time - thank you for creating this brilliant add-on and keeping it up to date.
Works great and a nice replacement for the incompatible "Copy Plain Text" add-on.
Works great. I don't know why this was so hard to find in the Add-Ons -- it was like 5 screens deep in the search. This should come as default with Firefox. Don't people need to copy as text? :::shrugs:::
The best copy addon
Installed and works for me in FF5. Great to have this functionality again. Yes, it should be built in functionality with the core browser.
Great! - Thank you
I was very sad when I discovered that "Copy Plain Text" didn't work with FF 4. Thank you for fixing this!
Мне было очень грустно, когда я обнаружил, что "Copy Plain Text " не работает с FF 4. Спасибо за исправление этой!
Thanks you. Very Good!
Works with FF4 - Thanks!
