LOVE! But can't get it to work now, even though extension installed! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Lately, it has come and gone, and I've reinstalled it several times, still, has disappeared once again and I've just reinstalled it, but cannot add it to toolbar by any means tried and true! I depend on it so much, need it back! Now what?! HELP?

great add! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

this is a great and simple and time saving addon. As stated in the instruction, you have to fill data with your email addres AND your personal message in this add to work

Excellent Add-On.
Inobstrusive replacement for www.absenden.de or www.toread.cc . It has the advantage that unlike the aforementionead webservices, it doesn't need javascript. so you can leave NoScript running at all times.

It allows to note and scrap all necessary data e.g. into your GMail account. Since you can adjust a keyword that is added to every subject line, you can easily set up a filter in GMail. There it can be tagged, turned into a Google Doc, searched, etc.

Has only one limitation: *marked* text of a website is supposed to go into the message body via the link this extension creates (e.g. https://mail.google.com/mail/?view=cm&tf=1&to=[EMAIL ADRESS]&su=[SUBJECT AND KEYWORD]&body=[LINK AND BODY TEXT] - but there's a character limitation, since GMail doesn't allow for this link to be too long.

@lazyrussian - can this be changed?

My current workflow (also to avoid the character limitation): *Copy* the area of the website or the whole website into the clipboard (Apple/Ctrl + C). Hit the Email Yourself Button. Paste the clipboard into the text body. Send!

Has the nice side effect that you get a more or less accurate snapshot of the website with working links.

Heya,

This can't be changed. It's a server-side limitation. Gmail can't handle more than a couple small paragraphs worth of text.

I LOVE this addon , saves me lots of time ( I send links to myself & then open them in my mobile later )

I was wondering if you could make it send the link directly without opening " compose mail " tab . It would make it much more easier :)

Nope, that's impossible. Too intrusive, so gmail doesn't have the feature.
What you want is twitter ;) (joke, joke)

Thanks for the review!

Very Useful. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Just started using this add-on, and once I added the buttons to the toolbar, it changed the way I use bookmarks. I no longer bookmark anything, I just send it to my gmail account and set the label as a bookmark. Brilliant idea Lazy! now if I could add another email myself that used a different label, like reference, etc. that would be even better.
Thanks!

I'll look into adding the feature. Sorry for the overly late reply! :\

Keyboard Shortcuts Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great add-on. I must use it 50 times a day with Firefox and WinXP.
I'm a keyboard junkie. I use Control-Alt-tilda (Not Control-Win-tilda) to start the GMail Compose tab. I can't find a keyboard shortcut to actually Send the mesage. Control-S saves a draft. So I have to use the mouse. And Control-W to close the tab.

Email Yourself, save few steps Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is a good addon. It would be perfect for my needs if there was an option to have the email automatically send without having to click send or close the focused gmail send tab.

Re: Email Yourself, save few steps

Tim,

In a perfect world that would be great and logical feature to add, it's impossible to do for a plethora of reasons. Sorry.

Perfect! I email myself plenty of URLs for later reviewing. This saves me a few steps. Make sure you add the button to your toolbar, from the customization menu, and enter the info required for it to work (via the OPTIONS).

Aargh! This is *so* close to being exactly what I need. Basically, I want an add-on that will easily allow me to "bookmark" a site from work for me to check-out later when I'm at home.

This basically works like that, but I was hoping that the program was going to be sending me an email to my Gmail address; not actually taking me to Gmail and having me write the email.

If this add-on were sending it's own emails to me with just the link it would be perfect!

Re: Almost Perfect

Tom,

It does that already. Just go to the preferences and fill in your email address. Then, whenever you execute Email Yourself!, it will automatically load gmail with everything filled in. All you'd have to do is push send.

Email Yourself! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

WOW! This is a great time saver and works just as advertised. If you're looking for a quick way to send yourself notes for later editing, this is the program to use.

Very cool! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is one of those things that I never even thought of needing. I usually will bookmark pages since I use Foxmarks and can backup. But I do sometimes find myself emailing myself a URL here or there. This is a nice little addon to save a few steps. And as someone else said, the custom suffix is nice for setting up a filter.

Only criticism I think I would make is that the author could make it open to ANY email as there are a few weirdo's out there that haven't discovered the awesomeness of gmail.

BTW, worked great for me in FF 3.1b2

Awesome. The custom suffix makes filtering super-easy.

Thank you!
