For those who experience the login problem and can't find the discussion page (I couldn't, had to google a bit - maybe it was more clear with the previous addons.m.o layout): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/discussions/comments.php?DiscussionID=6625
Very cool add-on for dzone.com users. I had to jump through some hoops to get it to recognize that I was logged in to dzone, but now that it does, it's very handy (yet unobtrusive.) Note that this was a sandbox version (0.9.1) so it would be surprising if there weren't a few issues.
See the discussion page for possible solutions, if you're having the login problem.
Nice idea. Would've got 10 but: 1. It's currently a bit broken 2. It would've been nice if it could display up and down votes in the status bar itself, or even submit from there (configurable, of course). The bar is nice, but it hides a portion (although small) of the screen, while the status bar is mainly empty (at least in my browser)
This is just what DZone has needed to make voting much easier to handle! Really nice piece of work! Took me a while to work out that I had to press "esc" to close the preferences pane (on OSX), but other than that it works really well!!
The small footprint is wonderful. So is the functionality when you're not logged in. It's just seamless. If you try to vote when you're logged out you're shown a link that says "login" which takes you back to the article page where you can vote.
Very slick. Now I don't have to remember to go back to dzone after reading an interesting article.
Congratulations, Chris, and thanks for providing an elegant voting solution that is exactly what DZone needed! This implementation is really nice, with minimal footprint on the target pages and no ugly frame like some of the social bookmark sites use.
