The BEST Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is one of my top 5 add-ons and one of the reasons I could never change Firefox for another browser. I use it since the beginning and makes surfing the web extremely easy and fun.
Thank you Andy for keep developing this great add-on and especially for the last version where you can disable search when dropping outside the zones. I was stuck to version 1.5.3 because of this.
Amazing Extension! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is an incredibly useful extension. Once you try it, you will wonder how you got along without it.
Many thanks to Andy Portmen for continuing development of this great extension!
Recent bugfixes help so much!
Can't drop search option to grid Rated 5 out of 5 stars
after upgraded to firefox 43 I saw that the search option to add were dissapeared and all tiles resetted. After D&DZ recently update now they are return but I can't add them to the grid and create the tiles; maybe is the third update to Firefox 43.02 that cause the issue.
PS: is there maybe a trick to set to avoid any action performed if I drop on empty tile? This is the only limit of this unbeliveable add-on.
great add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is the best add-on that I've ever used on firefox. It's REALLY convenient and easy to use. It's a most creative way to search on the Web. Imagine you could simply drag your keywords to the grid automatically shown and release the mouse key, the search is done. So fast! I'm a language leaner and I use it more often to look up new words on different dictionary or reference sites (like Oxford dictionaries, Cambridge, wordreference forum, etc.) as there are more online dictionaries now available. This one is part of the more comprehensive add-on Web Search Pro (Mr. Captain Caveman is a developer of that add-on) which includes not only most features of Drag & DropZones but also many other useful search functions. There's an option of this add-on to choose between switching or not to the page opened after a search and personally I perfer to choose not to switch so that I need not wait for the page to load fully and I can continue my work on the current page without being disturbed. This is very good and considerate!
This great add-on is one of the very reasons that I have adhered to using Firefox. It really has helped me a lot when I search on the Internet. I'd really like to express my thanks to the developers. Thank you! This is the best add-on!

Must have! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
There are many great add-ons for Firefox, but this is the one I love the most. Drag & DropZones makes everyday browsing and searching so much easier, that you'll get addicted to it. At first you'll probably need a few minutes to adjust the zones to your needs, but after that, it will shortly feel natural to search by drag and drop. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (188.8.131.52-signed.1-let-fixed).
Incredible! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This extension should deserve a freaking award or something! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (184.108.40.206-signed.1-let-fixed).

The word is too small ....This review is for a previous version of the add-on (220.127.116.11-signed.1-let-fixed).
Odd... Rated 4 out of 5 stars
When I drop on empty tile I don't want any action to be performed!
Instead D&DZ tries to URL to a site - this usually ends with 404 or invalid URL error page.
Please make this behavior possible (drop on empty tile = null = no action performed).

I´ve used this addon for years, and it´s been one of the main reasons, if not the main one, that I haven´t moved to other browser and stayed with Firefox.
That being said, my main problem is not being able to add folders with different search engines on it, so with a single "drag" gesture we would be able to fire up several searches simultaneously. The good old Web Search Pro used to be able do this, and it it the most serious omission of this addon, feature wise.
And oddly enough, there´s no way to backup your settings if you migrate to a new computer, new profile, etc. I have no idea why implementing a "Backup" settings is so "difficult" to do.
Anyway, I´ve finally managed to backup my settings manually by doing this:
1) Find the "Searchplugins" folder on your good profile, and overwrite the new profile with it.
2) Find "dendzones.sqlite" on your good profile, and overwrite the new profile with it.
3) If the grid size does not correspond with your previous settings, change it to suit your actual dropzones, and you´re good to go.
I highly recommend to use the "Add to search bar" plugin to further increase this addon´s functionality.
Really happy to see this addon is being developed again, keep it going guys, and PLEASE ADD FOLDERS SUPPORT!!

This is a great extension!
It is a pity that the developer has decided to stop developing it ...

Excellent module !
Regular Google search doesn't work Rated 3 out of 5 stars
It changes your search term in the text box and adds /setprefs?prev=http://www.google.com/search?q=yoursearchword and then gives you a 414 error: The requested URL /search... is too large to process.
Google SSL still works though and I should probably be using that anyways but just wanted to point out this problem.
Oops it DOES still work! Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is the very best add-ons for Firefox. I thought it wasn't working with V.21 but it does...somehow I had turned off the icon button, even though I had enabled it in the extension itself...oops! It looks like the designer has moved on from Firefox extensions. I hope this continues to work for many many versions to come. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (18.104.22.168.1-signed).
Bug Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Pressing Ctrl+Shift+left click on a link activates drag and drop zones, instead of opening the link in new foreground tab which is the default behavior of Firefox.
edit: about:config tweak fixed the problem
You can disable this feature in about:config by switching the following preference to false: extensions.dendzones.activateonctrlshiftclick

1. If I delete search engine from the browser, he still appear in D&D zones?
2. Make option to disable some engines in D&D zones.
Make it work with QuickDrag! Rated 3 out of 5 stars
been using quickdrag for years to drag links to a new tab, where you dont have to hover over the tab bar. just grab a link, drag a inch or so and let go. it opens the link in a new tab in the background. this extention kills it.
Dragurlink kind of fixes the problem. but the second time you drag, your extention forgets the timeout function, so that one is useless too.
what would ne even better is if i drag to an empty space, it will go what quickdrag does. not open a null page. that way, i wont even need quickdrag anymore.
One of those Add-ons that makes Firefox unique Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Mark text ---> drag&drop it to one of your search engines
