hey mister please upgrade your plugin for work in firefox 9
love it :)
oh, it looks like soThink crashes firebug or causes problems with the styles pane. oops.
try sothink swf catcher. it's a firefox addon, but you have to get it from their site: http://bit.ly/15mUAN
I had this installed since FF2.x. However, even though the add-on description says it doesn't work for FF3, it still has maxversion set to 3. This bit me when I upgraded to 3.0.x, because of course I got no warning that it wouldn't work. The actual problem is that with this extension enabled, Firefox 3.x will crash as soon as you click on a link to a pdf document. It took me a while to identify this extension as the culprit.
The author claims that the problem is with Firefox, and provides a bug URL. Having just looked there, it claims that the bug was resolved by the Acrobat 9.1 release, BUT I'm already using Acrobat 9.1.3, so either it's the wrong bug for this problem or the bug wasn't fully fixed.
I tried following the link to the homepage for the extension, and got just a blank page! Given also that the last update was in 2006, I can only conclude that the author had abandoned supporting this extension, so I've uninstalled it.
such a nice add-on to have. i've used it for a very long time and never had a problem with it until i tried to download it for the newest version of the browser!
i'm sure you're already busy trying to overcome whatever obstacle you've got, this is just another nudge to dooo iiiiit~~
I used to install download embeded 0.5, for some reason I uninstalled it. Now I has tried to intall it again; however, some problem has happened. I cannot install it and there is a message box that "Download Embedded 0.5 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 3.0.11". What should I do to install it successfully?
Look at the update date: 2006-10-24. The exact release date of FF2. Has a lot of Firefox changed since release 2.0?
Considering that we're at 3.0.11, I'd argue that yes, a lot has changed.
Since it's not designed for FF3 explicitly, it breaks FF3's PDF handling abilities, hogs resources, and is in general a bad plug-in.
If you're running FF3, the 'add to Firefox' button should say 'for an older version of Firefox'... So, read the description, and AVOID IT!
It crashes firefox when I try to open a PDF file. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS PLUGIN
This add-on/plugin causes firefox to crash WHEN YOU CLICK A PDF link. It doesn't always happen if the pdf is embedded in a page. It did when I clicked something in the Euro patent site in the embedded pdf, which froze firefox. Please fix this soon, this has been a long-bug, what's the delay?
God bless you.
It crashes firefox!!!... someone please tell how to uninstall..
It crashes firefox. Happened AT LEAST 100 times now - and I only installed it a week ago...
Getting these pesky swf and what not with this extension works like a charm on firefox < 3, meaning not good at all on firefox 3.
It keeps erroring out as soon as it lands on flash pages...
but i installed it on a profile with a lower, more stable, firefox version and it's working!
Only problem is that when you upgrade to firefox 3, the beast does not think about buggy extensions and therefore had me switch back to older versions until i discovered how to get rid of the bug:
delete the folder dlembed... at the following location on windblowz:
C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.firefox3\extensions
still looking forward to an update so it is ok on future version of the best browser on the planet... oops, i know... still good enough...
if youd like to download videos use youplayer - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5709
or netvideohunter - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7447 which is experimental, but effective
crashes FF 3.0.6 on many PDFs, eg http://www.agenziadogane.it/wps/wcm/connect/resources/file/ebeaab4eabd83d3/ammin_doganale_uk.pdf?MOD=AJPERES
Not a malicious or spamware B.S. plugin, but doesn't function either - so, ultimately it's useless. Just grabs a link 2 the 'playback executable' thingy place holder object, not the video itself - WHOOP DEE DOO!
guys DO NOT download it
it is an virus
everytime i try to download something my virusscans says there is an virus active it is an script-virus
Works for some sites.
Crashes whenever you load a pdf file in Firefox with Adobe's Reader 9 plugin. It's ok otherwise, but not very powerful. DownloadThemAll is much better.
Slows Youtube videos down tremendously, hogs cpu in the process.
It crushes over and over again. Dont use it.
It crushes over and over again. Dont use it.
Garbage. I can't believe firefox can't just make a flv downloader like real player's, so we wouldn't have to resort to using that piece of crap and IE (because it's not compatible with firefox). But it's the only thing real player's good for.
Doesn't seem to work at all. The files it produces consistently crash.
