cookies still appear -- what's being blocked? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I start out with no cookies. Then -- with DNT installed -- I start acquiring cookies. Just as if DNT was not installed. So I'm being tracked, and I don't know what this add-on is blocking.

p.s. Where did my other review go? It was right here, before jackeler's. We can only have one comment up at a time?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (  This user has a previous review of this add-on.

You probably need a new version

Hey there-

DNTMe blocks tracking cookies, not *all* cookies. There are plenty of cookies out there that do things completely unrelated to tracking, like setting volume control on sites and showing images. DNTMe only blocks cookies that track you and collect your data.

Also, please make sure you're using the newest version of DNTMe. Old versions used to set opt-out cookies, which signal to advertisers that you don't want to be tracked. We've since removed them and focused exclusively on blocking, which is a stronger, more protective approach, but if you're still using an old version of DNTMe, that could explain why you're seeing cookies.

To answer your second question, Firefox stores your previous reviews of the same product underneath your more recent one. If you click on the permalink for your most recent review, you'll see the older one under it (it says "This user has a previous review of this add-on").

Hopefully this answers your question, but if not, just email me directly: Sarah at Abine dot com.
