Ver 2.6 is buggy: when you open a local html file it makes FireFox hang forever ...
If you work offline or not connected to internet it doesn't hang and opens the file normaly.
I reinstalled ver 2.5 and it's fine.
Please fix this otherwise excellent extension.
Version 2.6 don't works with Fast Dial or Speed Dial.
Version 2.6 your plug-in strongly brakes Firefox and sometimes drops it.
Thanks for reporting a potential issue. What exactly happens that is causing problems, and when does it happen? No problem with 2.6 has been found in testing, so more details would be appreciated. Please contact me here: http://novatechnetwork.com/contact.php
Please update it to Firefox 3.7 build. It works well in 3.7 branch.
Bloody marvellous i say.
Nice try! But I think that the country flag shows up differently for some sites. For example: the country flag for this site shows up as "China" and while using the flagfox addon, it shows up as "Singapore".
Other than that, good effort and like another user says, it should the full name of the country.
Can you show full name of a country when mouse over ?
Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into adding it in the next version.
Nice extension! I've been looking for something like this for a while, especially something that would show me what kind of server i am visiting. The flag and IP features are made redundant by other excellent extensions I use (showIP and Flagfox).
I love this add-on and have been using it for some time now.
HOWEVER, I believe I have just discovered a problem: the country flag associated the IP address is not correct in my particular case, and perhaps in others as well.
I have several hosting accounts with Netfirms, a Canadian hosting company with hosting facilities in Canada and the US. My websites, according to the Domain Details add-on, are located in the US, when they really are in Canada. Visiting dndetails.com and supplying my IP address confirms this.
To the authour: Does this add-on not use the tool at dndetails.com?
The IP Country database that ships with this addon is less accurate than the website to reduce the size of the addon.
Dndetails.com will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information.
Did not find any bugs. Works fine!
This addon don't work when is installed
Selection Links 0.0.1
from Florian Gilles....
Looks good - except that for me it isn't much use as it can't look up info on uk domains. Returns them as invalid/not registered!
Great addon. I love having quick and immediate access to this sort of information. Having formerly worked for a webhosting company, I know how much of a pain in the ass it is to access the manual way.
However, I have noticed a problem with the latest update. It conflicts heavily with Fast Dial or any other "Speed Dial" addons by causing the process to slow to a crawl whenever the "speed dial" page is loaded... possibly because it's trying to do domain lookups on every site you have listed at once.
I've used it for a while and it works great!
Never had any problems with it.
that's so great. I like it, thanks
A great extension. Highly reccomended.
LOVE IT! great enhancement that I use for my internet research. One color set for fast review and another for slow reading. GREAT
Great extension, but has causes serious lag on localhost sites. When working on my local server I have to disable the extension entirely.
Quite a handy little extension! Love it!
Very good extension. Seems to work for most sites but the database wrongly lists Italy as the country for my private IP range (192.168.1.0/24; see RFC 1918).
Nettes Extra, mit interessanten Infos.
Worked just fine for me. However, the default whois tool isn't as good as DomainTools and there's no way to change it.
This extension works fine for me using FF 184.108.40.206 and a whole bunch of other extensions. It appears as the last item on the right click context menu.
I'm pretty happy with it.
