at least on my kubuntu 13.10

ctrl-w please! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I would like ctrl-w too to avoid closing a tab. I use emacs, so ctrl-w slips out habitually when I am editing.

Tiny add-on that delivers on its promise: it disables C-q.

Works!

Very useful Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I despise the Ctrl-Q shortcut.

Please please, could you make it available for Windows 7? I'm tired of closing accidentally the web browser.

Hi clara. Thanks for the information. I do not have access to a Win7 machine at the moment. However, looking at the current source snapshot I do not see the shortcut enabled. What version of Firefox are you running? If you would like to continue discussion at my issue tracker (https://github.com/choobin/dcqs/issues) I would be happy to look into if further for you.

So useful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you! This shortcut shouldn't even exist in the first place.

Thank you Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you for this very necessary addon.

unless you like having dangerous data-loosing shortcuts configured to be just one key over from a frequently used shortcut... this is great!

Thanks! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I always closed firefox when i wanna close the tab.

Thanks!

This is not only the simplest but the best add-on, so that my frustration is gone by it.

Should be default in firefox Rated 5 out of 5 stars

If you want to get an @ on a Germany layout you have to press "Alt Gr"+"Q". I just wanted to get this character onto the screen but accidentally hit "Control" instead of "Alt Gr"... omg

Ty. Now I can close tabs (C-W) without worries

Nice addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

@guuuuud C-Q is the default exit shortcut on many desktop environments (except Windows). It's supposed to be consistent for all applications. I guess that's why Mozilla implemented this.

Nice addon. C-W is just too close to C-Q...

Very good. I am not sure why Mozilla designed this shortcut. This add-on completely eliminate the possibility of finger slip while pressing C-W

I believe this is my favorite add-on, so that grants another review from my part.

"I screamed foul curses for the last time. What the hell kind of shortcut layout is it that closing a tab is next to quitting the whole program?"

-- Same thing is true concerning Simple Scan (Ubuntu): the page-scanning shortcut (ctrl-1) sometimes causes finger to slip on the Q key and therefore exit the program and throwing all the current project away without any fault tolerance.
