Diigo Web Collector - Capture and Annotate by Diigo Inc.

by macindog, 7 years agoI've been using this for years now, when the downfall of del.icio.us was on the horizon. It makes it simple and easy to collect a tagged directory of web links, annotate pages or just flag stuff to read later.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Roman A, 11 days agoThe latest version doesn't work in Firefox/Linux. Previous version works.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Andrés, a month agoBookmark saving does not work in the latest version.
You can get the previous one (6.0.0.4) in the section "version history - See all versions"
It may not work directly so right click on the "Download file" link to save it locally.
It will throw an error when trying to install the extension file by double clicking the extension file. In that case:
* enter about:debugging#/runtime/ at the location bar.
* Activate the "Load Temporary Add-on" option
* try again to install from the local file. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18546910, 2 months agoFolks reporting this is now broken would be more correct in saying that how it works has changed. Use the "annotate article" from the plug-in drop down to get refreshed view of the page you want to annotate (w/o the site style sheet). Admittedly not as groovy as before but all my content and ability to make more is there. It's a great tool and concept!

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 15174468, 5 months agoStopped working since a couple of weeks. Doesn't seem to be actively maintained anymore. Time to migrate to Raindrop.io or TagPacker.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Please Insert Pun, 5 months agoThe extension has stopped working on Firefox. I have been a major Diigo user for years and have a premium plan, but if the extension does not work on my preferred browser, I might have to look into changing what tool is use for web annotation.

- Rated 1 out of 5by alabarga, 5 months agoI use it a lot, but it does not work since latest update (v6.0.0.5resigned1), please, fix it!
- Rated 2 out of 5by CitrusLemon, 5 months agoI was a very satisfied (premium) user of this add-on for over 15 years.
However, in the last year, the experience has deteriorated: saving images does not always work, and searching for annotations from the web interface often returns no results, even though the searched text is present in an annotation.
With the latest release (6.0.0.5resigned1), the add-on has stopped working entirely. I contacted care@diigo.com to no avail. I, too, had to revert to the previous version. - Rated 2 out of 5by Coldblackice, 5 months agoEasily my most used addon, ever. Never gets new features, but it's fine since the real magic is its ability to highlight and notate any website, anywhere on the web, at any time.
Thankfully Diigo hasn't bloated it with junk or telemetry like other companies do, nor have they stripped out functionality like other companies do (cough Google cough).
The reason for 2-stars: the latest update (v6.0.0.5resigned1) has broken this addon. Once fixed, it's easily a 5-star addon. Til then, I had to uninstall and reinstall an older version in order for it to be usable again. - Rated 5 out of 5by David, 7 months ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by Aa, 9 months agoCreating an account is necessary to use this extension, but creating an account via Email is not working. Would love to test properly this once this is fixed.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Cody, a year agoI've used Diigo for years and transfered to a new computer. I had trouble logging in and saving. These are the steps I took:
1) Logged in at diigo.com
2) Downloaded through diigo.com link
3) Disabled enhanced tracking protection (unfortunately, the extension wouldn't work without doing this) - Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 12248567, a year agoI paid for premium. My tags aren't showing up in the tag management area. I've made multiple attempts to contact the company. The web app indicates I'm supposed to have premium support. I also tried on Twitter/X. Since the boomarklet says to rate the app, I'm posting here to see if they finally respond to me. I'll give it two stars because it's got so much potential, but this total un-responsiveness to paying customers is weird.
