Update for Firefox3 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I hope you provide update for Firefox 3 very soon! I updated to Firefox 3 and found out the MSTS dictionary is incompatible, and from the previous comment so is this.

This is a great add-on but could you please make a version that works with FF 3.

I can force it to work in 3 but its very buggy and almost unusable.

Just loaded, seems ideal. One wishlist item: Can it be made to work in a text entry field on a web form?

An excellent dictionary tool! All you need to do is double click on a word to view the definition. But I can't use it anymore until it updates to support Firefox 3.0 RC1!! ... Please update... :)

By Far THE Best Dictionary Extension... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is by far THE BEST dictionary extension out there. I like the fact that you can double click on a word and the definition opens in an overlay. It doesn't open in a new window or a new tab or someone elses computer down the street or where ever! I just wish it would work with FF3 (I just upgraded). Now I'm forced to use another dictionary until this one is updated and let me just say screw this "Opens in another window in just 200 easy clicks" bullcrap!

Super but .. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent add-on. If it could export searched words to a text document in a designated local folder, it is then beyond perfect. I thought the function under Preference "Store Words in Locally Shortcut Key" did that, but it doesn't seem to work at all or do anything other than getting this file DictionaryTip.db in the Firefox dictionarytip folder updated. It looks like paying $3.99 would get me “save and retrieve the words already lookedup.” I’ll take a chance to get it even after seeing the negative comment by Sisyphus on this feature.

Very Useful Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've tried this and the MSTS-Dictionary. For some reason the MSTS doesn't work with my version of firefox, and from reading through the reviews I'm not the only one with that problem. Not to worry though, Tooltip comes to the rescue. Highlight, Right Click, and select "View Definition". The Tooltip will pull up the definition from the website of your choice (opening it in a mini pop-up window). Can't find the definition with the dictionary? It's as simple as choosing to view another dictionary site. It comes with a large number of sites already installed (free dictionary, dictionary.com, the urban dictionary, wiktionary etc...), but you can also add your own to the list.

Very useful. One of my most utilized add-ons.

If your looking for similar add-ons; I found the Wikipedia Lookup Extension to be very convenient as well (looks up the selected text in the online encyclopedia Wikipedia).

No one home Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I started using DT and liked it so I paid the $3.99 for the "extras". Since then it has been completely screwed up so I sent 3 different emails to Rahul Jonna asking why this might be. I've heard nothing back in the two weeks I've been emailing him. Save your $3.99, it got me nothing but headache.

Ultimate Firefox Dictionary Rated 5 out of 5 stars

If you are looking for a browser dictionary this is the one to keep. I have browsed through all of the 19 hundred something extensions available on firefox and installed each and every available dictionary, but mark my words this one's the ultimate. You don't need to touch the keyboard, you dont need to right click, it opens right in the same tab, right there where you leave it the last time, and finally, to close it you don't need to look for a close button, just click anywhere in the tab and it disappears. So basically while reading you don't need to look ANYWHERE ELSE even for a moment. And to top it all we get to choose the default dictionary from a list of dictionaries. Just one suggestion, it would have been great if we had the choice to add some dictionaries of our choice. Anyways a 10 and thanks Rahul for giving this world DT.

P.S.-Highly recommended for previous IE Research button users.

Favorite extension ever Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I have downloaded over 75 extensions throughout my firefox life, and this is by far the most useful.
It does have a few minor flaws, the most prominent being that when looking up a word near the top of the page, the tooltip is too high.
Also, hyperlinks cannot be looking up because clicking would result in following the link. A feature to get around this would be nice, such as holding a special key when clicking.

Well done. Easily worth four bucks. Make it free for schools (if it's not already), build a brand and you got a hit.

Best dictionary tool! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been on the look out for just such a tool for ages. No more having to open new windows, click on them, read the definition, and then go back. Great add-on.

My most used extension Rated 5 out of 5 stars

As above I use this at least a dozen times a session.A simple double click & up pops the tool tip with definitions from a dozen sources including the urban dictionary.
