Can be useful, but I am absolutely sick of balloon pop-ups covering text when I am typing and highlight a word for correction. Where are the options for this extension? Or please, at least, offer the option to exclude text entry boxes.

Loving it! Wish it would be recursive.. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks for your great work! It would also be great to lookup words on a pop-up bubble, to keep me in a loop :) seriously

OPTIONS OPTIONS OPTIONS Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Instead of double-clicking on a word to highlight it and pop up the definition, I WISH there was a key to hold down option. It really is a time waster having to close pop up balloon windows of definitions you don't want when editing comments etc. OPTIONS OPTIONS OPTIONS.

Make it work on docs file Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Please make it work when I open docs file (PDF, Word) via google doc viewer or via browser itself.

Right now, the add-ons only can work in a HTML page.
So, is it possible to make it happen?

Thanks

Work OK, but
- only one dictionary
- CAN'T COPY THE TEXT which makes it unsuitable for me.

Lack of support Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Over 2 years without any new updates. May be the developers was dropping support.

Would be 5 stars Rated 4 out of 5 stars

If it has IPA in the popup. Still Great.

Customization? Rated 2 out of 5 stars

As is, this add-on pops up whenever I double click, and this messes up a number of important web page functions. The description says it's customizable, and disabling the double click behavior is the first thing I'd change. But as far as I can tell, there is actually no way to customize anything at all.

Customization? Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Beside being good ui and good performance, there is no way to customize it and it makes it totally useless!

Well made and useful Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I am happy this type of add-on is available as it allows me to quickly see the definitions of words quickly.

I removed one star because of the lack of options and settings. I would like to be able to customize the add-on but they have nothing to provide.

I removed another star because, as others have mentioned, the privacy concerns when dealing with dictionary.com. Some items tracked are questionable, but some are also valid. It would be nice if they explained why they need so much information for a darn dictionary company.

Pronuciation is not working in HTTPS pages Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Everything is working well in HTTP pages. But pronunciation is not working in HTTPS pages. I think that Firefox blocks this for the security reason. How can I fix it?
Oh I found that if I click the lock icon on URL bar, I can disable the protection temporarily.

Not Working Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The Dictionary.com extension is simply not working on my PC no matter what I do. And it is not disabled. Also, there is no way to customize any settings (double-click, etc.) besides setting auto updates. Frustrating.

Privacy policy Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Boy, I was very excited about this addon until I read their privacy policy. Like a user commented already, it is atrocious, downright intrusive.

Not work with disqus comments or iframes. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Excellent addon thankyou Webdeveloper but:
1. Dictionary Extension does not work inside Disqus comments or some iframes.
Can you please fix for that?

2. Works excellent in a clean profile and toolbarbutton appears. The firefox addon "Menu Editor" prevents DIctionary Extension from functioning though.
Can there be a fix to make it compatible with Menu Editor please?

3. No homepage.
Support site is directed to dictionary.com so that is of no help regarding this addon.
Thankyou.

Please consider adding option to enable IPA in pop-up Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Cool addon, but non-IPA phonetic transcription is very confusing, and there's no option to switch to IPA

From a good add-on down the slippery slope of trying to be better and failing. I don't always want to define a word an annoying pop-up. I more often want to explore a word I am interested in and would rather type the word into the search field, like before. This is stupid. I'll find another add-on that works. I would change my mind and reconsider this one if the original function of searching from the search field is restored.

double click popup is a mess Rated 1 out of 5 stars

double click popup is a mess. It shows some kind of huge thumb on the double click popup. Not use ful.

Repulsive privacy policy Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I am familiar with Dictionary.com's Android app, so I assumed their atrocious privacy policy would also be in effect here, and it sure is. Other users have mentioned this, but it bears repeating. If you use this extension, here is what you are giving them:

* Your IP address.
* Unique identifier which tracks your installation
* Your geographic location.
* The URL of the PREVIOUS web page you visited before visiting their site.
* Words you look up (of course).
* And so on.

And they share everything with other parties.
