This addon was abandoned by its developer, and is no longer compatible with DeviantArt's API. As such, it cannot function.
The plugin can't login by the looks of it, and it takes you to a wrong address, too. Basically: absolutely useless.
Works well on Firefox 37 on OS X Yosemite 10.10.3. However, there's no button, so I had to make it so that whenever I have a message, it opens a new tab.
This add-on is totally useless to me! It doesn't show anything but the dA fella's face and "deviantAnywhere", no matter how many messages I have on dA. I set the update frequency to five minutes, and checked dA half an hour later. I had received several new messages, but the addon had neither changed away from "deviantAnywhere" to show that I had gotten new messages, not did it make any notification sound. And yes, I had it following all events. Totally useless!
I had to decrease my rating. On the latest dA design, the addon is going bonkers and plays the same noise over and over again when I get a new message.
Despite the fact of the recent Firefox update, Firefox Australis I still use the add-on. With the help of another add-on ( Classic Theme Restorer) mind you.
I know that you may make fixes for Firefox Australis but if you do, can you make that add-on separate from this one? I like having the add-on at the bottom. If not maybe make it so it can be placed/moved on the bottom ,onto the add-on bar (for those who use Classic Theme Restorer) ,or on top were all add-ons will be from now on (for those who like Firefox Austrails)?
Dosent work with new update
Still works great in Firefox 29 - although I'm not sure it would work if I didn't also have Classic Theme Restorer installed.
This is amazing :D
Simple, easy, cool :D
It should work again soon.
Just check out this page: http://www.deviantanywhere.deviantart.com/
same as other new reviews- great deviantanywhere add-on is not working.
Great Addon. :) But it seems it doesn't seem to work anymore. Since yesterday it won't show any messages.
It's placed in the bottom bar which I cannot and do not want to make visible. I would like to be able to place the extension in the top bar next to the search bar like my other extensions, but I can't drag it in edit mode. If other extensions' icons can be moved, I'm sure it is possible. Would be a good addition for a future update.
Thank you ! I couldn't find a way to auto login on deviantart at firefox startup. You add-on does that and more ^_^
Brilliant add-on. It would be also great if you could make it compatible with the navigation bar.
It wont show up, and ever since i got it, it has been making a weird plopping noise and its really annoying! Is there any way to remove it?
There is a bug. The add-on is placed on the add-on bar and that bar is hidden by default. Press Ctrl + / on Windows or Cmd + / on Mac to activate it. Sorry for the inconvenience
This is great, but unfortunately, it's only available in the addon bar. Anyway you can make us able to move it around?
Thank you for making this. As an DeviantArt fanatic it really helps to keep me up with all of my club stuff.
Addon works great and really helped me when a close friend of mine use to communicate exclusively through DeviantArt.
If you're still alive, please update this add-on.
It's not the new version of Firefox that's the problem, Deviantart upgraded their site to version 7 a few months ago and this plugin can't read that version.
Used to be a great plug-in, but it doesn't work with the recent Firefox :-(
I absolutely love this addon but it needs to be updated so it works in the new firefox. Please update so I can have my lovely little guy telling me that I have new messages once again. :)
Oops...apparently DeviantART changed a whole bunch of stuff recently a just burned everyone who uses this add-on. What is the possibility of an upgrade???
One of my favorite add-ons EVER, I have been using it pretty much since day one. It's appropriately customizable, easy access, does its job well, and makes my day-to-day 'net use a little less like having an obsessive tic (I'm not constantly checking my dA message center to see if I have new stuff because if I do, devAnywhere will let me know). Very useful and awesome!
Today (May 18th), deviantART launched their latest interface design, v7. As usual when dA launches new versions, devAnywhere has gotten a bit screwy. If you see the error message: "Script: chrome://devany/content/main.js:254" or similar, or you experience periodic freezes in firefox, disable this add-on. If you see it "Loading..." forever, then understand that it's the same issue.
I'm sure the wonderful developer will eventually find a way around the issue, but try to be patient! It's freeware, after all, and we need to appreciate that.
Thanks again to the developer! Looking forward to using it again when you have the time to correct dA's buggery.
