Absolute CRAP.
Based on a few *hardcoded* domain names and nothing more.

prism.js:
// Basic list of providers based on media coverage
var prismSitez = ["google.com", "gmail.com", ...];
for (var i = 0; i < prismSitez.length; i++) {
if(window.location.host.indexOf(prismSitez[i])...

Does not seem to be working for me Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I found this very interesting that everything associated with Google, Facebook, AOL, Yahoo. is being monitored by the NSA according to this application. Also homepages of banking sites as well. That being said I do not find the music to be annoying because I leave those areas immediately, or I go to an https:// url for that site. That usually stops the music which indicates to me that if they attempt to penetrate a secured site the banking and other industries might generate concern by these companies. I hope for better improvements also.

AAAA+++++ Epic AddOn Rated 5 out of 5 stars

though... I had to turn off app until there is an easy button to turn music off and on...at moment I visit most sites run by NSA ... does anyone know...do they watch our internet activity also in the Fema Camps :)

Great concept!! It sucks to see how often this pops up though. Love pink Floyd. HOWEVER........ There are no options to shut off the music at ALL. When going to facebook, it triggers this addon to play multiple tracks at the same time! Same with gmail.

I give this 5 stars because of what the addon accomplishes., but i am going to have to disable it until there are option added to deal with issues. A warning tone should be sufficient or even just the popup.

Music is EXTREMELY annoying. Just make it one short sharp sound. That's all.

Disabling for now until this will be changed.

Great add-on! I like it but the image is blocking access to page

The background music is very annoying. Please remove it and make it simpler.

Interesting Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Prism blocks the "sign out" link within gmail. Verified with firebug, element exist even if not in view (ff, v.22, win7). Please fix. Other thoughts: Of course gmail itself is a monitored domain. But some traffic they can have, I suppose my theory is it's better to look like a normal user at times than appear to be hiding anything. Security by obscurity is never real security but what are we gonna do?

Yea kewl Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Would be better if you could disable the music and it just showed the emblem. With the music playing becomes aggravating though is a kewl app.

how can I distinguish? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks, Justin, for this very useful tool! I at once started to recommend it to all my friends.
As I learned from the posts here, the song is starting at any site with certain buttons. Not always then is the prism-picture to be seen. This means, the site per se isn't on the special list?
If not so - is there any possibility to find out, wether the site would trigger the music even if those buttons wont be there?
Tried to find out from the source code, but still I'm not as good in the language as I'ld like to.
And yes, like ice I think you are very brave. But only the braves are the ones that can stop certain developments.
Since the latest revelations I always add some kind messages for NSA or the president to my mails ;-) thinking they are all so wrapped in their own world, that they completely forgot the people as their employer and the one who pays their salary.
They forgot who is there for whom.
And a possible search engine might be duckduckgo. Hopefully. And hopefully a while longer ;-)

Not Impressed! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I am not impressed. This program does not appear in the Mozilla/Tools/Add-ons list so I cannot remove it or disable it. Whilst it sounds like a good add-on, the additional fact that my log-in information on some websites (cookies) has been removed makes me even more unimpressed. Please tell me how to remove this add-on when it actually does not appear in the Mozilla add-on list.
Further investigation has shown me that the program is NOT in Add-ons, it is in Extensions. Why would they give us incorrect information when we want to remove the program?
I really am NOT impressed!

Help! Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Interesting add-on confirming all my suspicions, but now I'd like to uninstall or MUTE and cannot figure out how. Please help!

Relax, this is for fun Rated 5 out of 5 stars

If you are thinking about using this add-on, keep these things in mind.
1) It's for fun, and not some sort of magical NSA/Prism blocking add-on.
2) Purchase Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon album if you want to pause, mute, etc, the songs.
3) Here's a list of the companies, http://www.pcworld.com/article/2040991/report-nsa-prism-program-spied-on-americans-emails-searches.html
4) Firefox button > Add-ons > Extensions > Dark Side Of The Prism > Disable, disables this add-on or you can choose Remove.

This is a brilliant and funny add-on!Thanks for developing it.

5 Star for Bravery Rated 5 out of 5 stars

THANKS, and keep up the good work. You are a BRAVE individual to take this on, but I promise you there will be an unbelievable demand for this stuff, from here on out.
Don’t pay any attention to negative feedback, I promise you the ‘negative’ comments to your efforts are paranoid government officials and google itself. One thing that convinced me you are on to something is the fact that I COULD NOT SIGN OUT of one of my Gmail accounts UNTIL I disabled your add-on (which is extremely easy).
You’ve got the government Spooks scared. I am searching hard for alternatives to google, bing, yahoo and other deceitful and corrupt search engines…I know the search may be fruitless, but I will try long and hard and I will help spread the word.
I will only list 2 suggestions;
1. Do NOT pay any attention to negative feedback unless it is actually constructive criticism;
2; you might want to enlist an armed militia to stand guard around your work space.

And remember; “Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not after you” (Curt Cobain)

Need DETAILED instructions for disabling Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Nora17 - do you think I haven't searched for exactly that? Under "Tools" I only find developer tools. I have spent the last hour searching for a way to disable this add-on to no avail. It really needs to be much easier to disable!!

This user has a previous review of this add-on.

“Dark Side of the Prism” works fine, just disable the add-on when you've gotten the general idea! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Thank you So much Justin Blinder....I know how to go to my add-ons, click on 'Tools' (Firefox) and disable the app, by clicking on the button that says 'Disable'...I guess it will eventually occur to those complaining to do the same....in short, ANY webpage with a FaceBook or Google+ button is "Dark Side of the PrismLand''.....Once again, a thousand thank you's

Not functional enough Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Problems - One you cannot mute only the add on, Two it does not show up after being installed AS ans add on in the add on list. Three you cannot disable it without disabling all add-ons. Four it loads multiple times for every link on the page that is also monitored.
I get it that many of the pages I go to are monitored. It is nice to know which ones.

However I would still like to hear the videos on Youtube and use face book even though they are already monitored. I knew they were already because we all know that every website is monitored in general and some in specific and this plugin just confirms which ones are monitored in specific.

I will uninstall the plug in now if it is possible. I will wait for a more functional version,

I have just listened to about 15 minutes of highly distorted Pink Floyd (one of the few bands I like, but not overlaid several times) while being totally unable to listen to my music on the radio feed or to a YouTube talk. All I need is that image of the prism in the top right corner as a warning. Take away the music and, assuming it does what it says on the tin, it would have 5 stars.
[Later] Have disabled it until the music is removed and just the fading prism is the warning.
