Is this project dead? The old google code site has been archived and no indication that it has been moved to github.
First of all, it's a shame that this add-on does not get 120% 5 star ratings. It serves me a great deal every morning. Do you have any idea why it doesn't work with FF 29 anymore? I (un)installed it several times now, but the icon is nowhere to be found.
Thank you for the great add-on. Is there any chance to place the icon other than status bar ? Because I deactivated the status bar to have larger screen space. It would be great if there would be a chance to place the icon somewhere we want. Cheers...
There is an updated 2.6.2 version posted to the Daily Dilbert website above with support for FireFox 5 and all comic links currently working. You can find the latest release of the Daily Dilbert extension on the dilbert code site (link above) or the direct download page:
Thanks to Steve, who added the official version (see above).
Any chance of this being upgraded to Firefox 4.0? I really hope the creator does this. Also any hope of being able to give it URLs ourselves so we can add or subtract cartoons to it? Only a two as it seems to be abandoned and won't work for me at the moment.
please, release the update version for FF 4! I'm totally addicted with Daily Dilbert!! :)
I used to enjoy reading the strips. The empty strips were even removed with the update. But now, nothing happens when I click on the icon. When it works, it's great. Right now, it's broken so it's useless :(
This is a favorite add-on of mine. However, it is slowly disintegrating. I wish there was a configuration to add/fix/remove links to the strips. I cannot rate it at a 5 because it seems the author may have abandoned it. The only thing that makes me think he has not, is that the supported versions of FF seems to be updated (mostly).
Very nice tool, but I would not recommend to install the 2.4: many broken links and not customizable!! When is the next release coming out?
It's good, but would be better if it opened with the first browser open of the day, as someone else suggested. Some days I forget to open it. Also, Get Fuzzy and Opus are broken.
Hasn't worked for a while now. And it doesn't work well with Chromifox or RSS Ticker. I hope it gets fixed.
Love it. Recently, the Dilbert in Spanish broke. ANy idea how to fix this?
It would be better if there was an option to automatically open the comic once a day.
A simple implementation would be to open the comic the first time the browser is opened on any given day. A more complex implementation would account for the fact that some users done close the browser.
Great addon! Sadly, Pearls before Swines are broken, and some of the others, too. I hope you can fix these, but Dilbert is working :-) Thanks!
Great little plug-in. would have given it five stars if you could resize the window (it quite often gets it wrong and you have to scroll about to read each strip), and if it had the ability to add/remove different strips. Otherwise great stuff though.
Great add on. It really helps a long day go by faster.
It would be even better if you could add Sherman's Lagoon to the list of comic. :-) Please!
Great job, great idea
Brilliant extension, my most used extension by far! As a new feature it would be great if you add "previous" and "next" buttons so you could change the day of the strips. Then I won't have to go to the relevant sites every Monday morning when I come in to work!!! Cheers and keep up the good work :)
I love this daily break from the mundane. It worked great, but suddenly I can't even see the icon. It says it's an installed add-on, and I even updated it. Still it's a no show on my Mozilla browser. HELP. I need my fix.
Nice to see daily strips on Firefox.
It would be even nicer to provide options such as managing the daily strips (add, hide) and change the position of the add-on.
I was really pleased to see such a fun-filled extension for Firefox. Most techies/geeks love Dilbert and now we can access it just at the click of a button. Awesome.
The creator of this extension has brought thousands of smiles to faces world over. When this extension was all of a sudden updated, I was wondering what had happened. To my surprise, another 2 of my favorite comics were also included - XKCD and Garfield.
Very nice extension that does not only Dilbert but also Peanuts, Garfield, and even XKCD!
This app worked fine until the update happened. Even after update, for a couple of weeks, no problem. However now the strip selector allows me to view every strip EXCEPT the english version of Dilbert, which was the whole reason for me adding this. However now I see there is a new dilbert app available, so I guess I\'ll add that instead.
Hi Marcel,\r\nthe dilbert page has changed from jpg to flash so I needed to adust the addon. Does it now work for you?\r\nCheers,\r\nArne
I was all excited to be able to get the daily Dilbert cartoon, I got the Icon but when I click on it I get nothing. I hope there is an update soon!
the issue is caused as the comics are loaded in background from the original source. this take for some comics/servers sometimes very long. I had a look into it yesterday but it's not so easy to fix as it sounds. Hope it was a more temporary issue for you. If not, you can try to set extensions.daily_dilbert.comic.site.current in about:config to a different value to at least browse some other comics :)
my daily dilbert doesnt work after upgrading to the latest version. i have tried uninstalling/reinstalling but does not pop-up
