A very good add-on. I use it especially to view pictures directly with irfanview. Works perfectly.
I've used this over the years and it's been great, but I can't get it to work now for the life of me. It keeps telling me "invalid path".
Here's the path - C:\Program Files\Notepad++
Nice work. Thanks!
Great way to replace the crummy FF source viewer - notepad++.
In TB 3.0.4.
I received an email "encrypted" or "signature" If it is, Add-ons of "Enigmail" has been decoded and displayed using. Shortcut key for this message (default: Ctrl + Shift + U) using the open, does not show the real source. View this case, it looks like that is decrypted using the content.
However, "ViewSourceWith icon" when opened using the source will be displayed correctly.
I can not understand why the behavior is different.
Excellent! In Firefox 3.6 on Ubuntu 10.04 this has replaced several other addons for me. It can open files or text in all kinds of applications. Super useful. Thanks. My only complaint is it could be a little more user friendly for us average folk. I'm no louse, but the mapping function seems to affect all my entries even when I choose for it not to. The documentation declares this shouldn't be the case, however the documentation is somewhat sparse...I'll continue to look through the forums, but it should be easier...Not just developers find this useful! Thanks!
Ottimo lavoro: è esattamente quello che cercavo.
I like the idea of this a lot, IF I could make it work. I thought this (when added to Thinderbird) would let me view the HTML I had pasted into the mail to be sent, but after a successful install (Thunderbird 3+) I can't see anything new in Thinderbird that looks like it would let me view the source in my outgoing mail before it's sent. PLS reply to firstname.lastname@example.org
I thought it was a general text editor and it be neat to use with the spell checker plug-in. But as soon as I loaded the file it was destroyed. Months of work lost.
won't work on OSX. When you add a text editor, you always have a error message. It seem did not able to launch the application (xxx.app). And if you open the .app, it's impossible to select the executable stored inside. I hope this solved soon.
This is so useful that I always forget it's not default - great work! Keep it up!
Without a doubt one of the most useful extensions I have used in Firefox (and I use quite a few !). It's completely configurable, and allows you to set up multiple source code editing/viewing programs, and does the job intended...VERY WELL. Well done Davide, you have done the Firefox community proud with such a useful and well used tool for our favorite browser. I teach web design and having this extension available to my students is extremely convenient.
This add-on when used with my home-made homepage has been wonderful. I created a homepage with about 200 catagorized and regularly used web pages AND text and pdf files in my computer. Getting quick access to the basic HREF code to add or change links has been wonderful. The in-computer homepage helps me get out of sticky lock-up situations too. And, having plain text documents like address/phone list, birthdays, passwords, etc is wonderful. Thanks so much for making life easier.
Do you need more control over your "Browser-View", and its counterpart-- the server-side source-code, unadulterated by parsing-- to view the default text source, as it was when you originally authored it in Notepad, or Gedit?
Are you certain the source is made up of several different files, such as an index.php dependent upon include 'header.include.php', 'config.inc.php', etc.?
Have you ever wanted to view a web, source file-- as it appears /TO/ the browser, before she actually parses the code-- before your source is modified to her own ideals (removing anything she perceives as "junk", for your greater viewing pleasure of course)? ?
The Bottom line: If you work in HTTP-server-side scripting languages, you NEED this extension (which works in FF, SM, TB, and more)!
Excellent! I don't know why this isn't built into Firefox out of the box, but this extension is exactly what I've been looking for.
Works great for me with UltraEdit.
Instant relief! My thanks to the developer! The 'fixes' out there didn't totally work as it caused system errors to pop up. This is perfect.
very nice add-on.:)
Very nice, work much better than It's all text or Mozex. But there is one issue, I can't set shortcut on linux because Shift+Ctrl+ in textarea will always insert character. Why I can't set something like F4?
Великолепное расширение с удобными настройками. Очень удобный инструмент при верстке HTML+CSS.
Great - very adaptable!! I have set this up with options to open the current page in IE/mshta/6/8, Opera, Safari, Chrome, Konqueror - to see how my website looks in various browsers. For editing, works perfectly with TopStyleLite for CSS, and Notepad++ for JS and HTML. Well done and thank you Davide!!
Great for web developers addicted to Firefox :) thanks...
Nice add-on, would benefit me greatly if the application path to the editor could be made either relative to the Firefox install path or from the root of the drive Firefox is run from for people running both Firefox and their editor from removable drives.
This is already possible, read the FAQ at\\r\\nhttp://dafizilla.sourceforge.net/viewsourcewith/faq.php#prof
I would like to view page source via a .bat or .cmd file (its an easy way to open files in jedit) but only applications are selectable in the open file dialog. It would be an easy enough fix and make it work for me, and probably others.
I didn't try all the features but its a perfect replacement for all those annoying web editors!
I just browse to the file on my hard drive and edit/reload until I have modified it to my taste.
