I don't know how to contact the guy below. This is worthless because it does not work with newer versions. I really would appreciate to have a add-on like this one! I need to remove Mozilla's ad from occupying window titles and add the URL after the title. The whole "customization" part of Firefox is a big fat lie! You just can't do anything minimally more advanced than sliding around stupid basic sht for common people.

Fix this! Chrome is getting more and more users... Count me on.

Works in every FF version so far Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I think it just needs some minor tweaks and a version up to support current and future FF versions.

If you think I should fork this addon contact me.

Still working Rated 4 out of 5 stars

In Palemoon 25.02 it is working nice and fine. Plus I really enjoy installing things that Mozilla tries to tell me I can't.

Upgrade this please!?! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I really don't want to downgrade my version of Firefox all the way to v. 18.0 just so this add on will work. I don't even know if that will work, I just read a review about someone that is using it in v. 18. Can you guys PLEASE update this add-on?

This add-on is still working great in Fx 18.

To change the <em:maxVersion> follow the instructions on this website:
http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/how-update-firefox-thunderbird-addons-n

You may have to restart Fx a couple of times fot the new title to show up.

How do I do what spider362 suggests?

Great Rated 5 out of 5 stars

@Keystone: I'm not the developer of this add-on and I'm sorry it didn't work for you. Developer of the add-on didn't make promises. I see you only made two reviews at this date with one star. May I say that your reviews are not constructive. You are not providing enough detail as to what you wanted to accomplish. Did you even try? Before giving a very negative and degrading review please put some effort into sharing as much information as possible and contacting the developer.

@Viscouse: I use this add-on for KeePass as well (via WinPenPack portable app suite) and I'm not sure what didn't work for you but this workaround still works for me in FF 8.0.1. The only suggestion I would have in <currenturl> is to replace brackets to curly as well as capitalize second 'u' as it might be case sensitive.

I've published my modified version here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/customize_titlebar_v2/. It should work with any versions from 3.* to 8.*. Please bear in mind that at this time it has not been reviewed by Mozilla editors. I've also changed descriptions to help users like Keystone decide if this is the right add-on for them.

Thanks,

Hrvoje

Could not "Customize the browser titlebar how you want." Rated 1 out of 5 stars

There's a limited set of data that can feed the titlebar. The app promises, "Customize the browser titlebar how you want." I couldn't do that. Unistalled.

I love this. This was exactly what I needed for running 2 profiles of FFP with KeePass Password Safe. I have a "work" FFP installation & a "home" FFP, so I append work & home to the titlebar respectively and Keepass can keep separate passwords for each (don't ask).

As I upgrade to FF6, this plugin breaks. I tried hrvojesolc's suggestion, and it works. However, something else breaks. There is a field this uses called <currenturl> that comes up as "undefined" in the titlebar. Any chance that can be fixed? Right now it's useless to me and I miss it ever so much!

This works with Fx 5.0, and Titlebar Tweaks Plus does not.

Better than the alternatives. I also use it with KeePass Password Safe.

Works great with Firefox 4. You can force add-on compatibility by adding a new boolean preference in about:config "extensions.checkCompatibility.4.0" and setting it to false (Where "4.0" is your Firefox version, put a "b" on the end if you're using a beta).

you can also use the nightly tester tools to modifiy the windows title; go to tools -> nightly tester tools -> customize titlebar
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nightly-tester-tools/

This combined with "Hide Caption Titlebar Plus" allow me to eliminate the titlebar and show the page name at the same time. There is a field where you can custom script it to display what you want (and has a clicky list so no help file needed). With this it goes beyond what I need right now, but if I ever need it to it's there.

Fantastic. Exactly what I wanted.

very nice!

feature suggestion: Using this toolbar I am manually putting the profile name in. It would be really nifty to have a custom variable to auto populate the profile name. If you run multiple profiles it can get very confusing.

I use this with Hide Caption Titlebar Plus: by setting the custom title to blank, the duo clears up the needless clutter of information around my browser.

Very nice, does what you want it to do, but unfortunately won't work with the Hide Caption add-on when you set it to show the title in the menu bar.

This or URL2Titlebar is what you need for KeePass.Info, which can only respond to the title of the window in which it is going to insert the uname/password.
