Tab Height Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Is it possible to make this extension also adjust tab height.

Source? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The addon appears to work well in the replacement of this much needed and deleted funcionality.
On other note, aren't you obligated by the license of your own choosing (mpl) to release the source code with the respective addon? That would be much appreciated.

Thanks for doing that.

I just unlocked the source. You may find it here:

Simple yet must-have functionality! Don't know why FF removed minTabWidth config and don't want a heavy weight solution like TMP to do this. This addon's perfect!

I would have installed in expectance that it would use less memory than Tab Utilities, but this addon doesn't work with Firefox 8.0a1. Removing the about:config variable was a really bad decision by Dao. He is disliked by many due to that illogical decision. :(

Very useful extension! Thank you and please keep up the good work. :-)

I'm going to switch to F7 soon - hopefully it will remain compatible.

Do encourage the maintenance of this extension Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I participated in the discussion cited by thenonhacker, and disagree with the decision taken there. However, I view it as a Mozilla-level decision to break this functionality and not go to the bother of fixing it. If Mozilla were more responsive to the demands of its users, this would have been fixed before Fx 5.

As the dev directly responsible, Gottwald went above the call of duty by making this add-on. Anyway, rate the extension (which is obviously useful) not the developer.

Never encourage this developer, here's why: Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Dão Gottwald, the creator of this add-on, apparently is the same person responsible for the removal of "about:config" settings that let you customize tab widths. See for yourself:

Apparently, it's a very bad decision. We now need plugins for each about:config option removed. I am now reconsidering moving to Chome.

"Anyway fortunately the creator of this add did what should have done Moz Fx4 developers, so thanks again !"

Everyone should know that "the creator of this add(on)" is THE Firefox 4 developer that eliminated the about:config capability.

I like the add-on, but I wish it wouldn't stop Browser.tabs.closeButtons from working properly.

Fixes issue created by Mozilla developers Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Right now, Firefox 4 is not really usable for me without this addon.
I'm really sorry that I was forced to install an entire addon for a one time config tweak that used to work in previous versions.
I hope the Mozilla team will get their act together and fix this issue, so I can uninstall it.

EXCELLENT Rated 5 out of 5 stars

There's some things I like about Firefox v4.0 and quite a few that I don't as well, but this extension at least makes things more bearable since we can no longer do as much futzing with things in about:config.
Thanks and keep up the great work !

Thanks Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very userful extension with that stupid removal of browser.tabMinWidth setting. Now Firefox is usable again. Thanks alot!

Fields for max and min tab mess a little: when I already have something like '10' there and try to type in '25', it comes out like '1025' and becomes '1000', so I again can't type in.
I come around using clipboard, so it's still great!

Lifesaver Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks a million, without this addon FF4 is virtually unusable.
Is there any petition ro re-integrate the about:config settings?
Frankly speeking, I am baffled why the developers would remove a choice that was so highly aprreciated by the user community!

A perfect patch for stupid Firefox 4.

It works perfectly. Although I also think it was a mistake to eliminate the "browser.tabs.tabMinWidth" of "about: config ".

Necessary add-on due to an unnecessary change on the part of the developers.

Works well, but has an annoying flicker when a tab is closed, during which the scroller appears for a moment and then disappears. Overall effect is that the tabs seem to "wiggle" left and right before closing.

Absolutely necessary ! Great extension ! Thanks to the creator of this add-on :-) But isn't it just silly that Firefox 4.0 developers removed natively "browser.tabs.tabMinWidth and browser.tabs.tabMaxWidth" from about:config ?! It was just so easy to change the settings... it took 30'' !!! Now of course it's easy too with this ext... but having to install another add-on just for that is frankly stupid, IMHO...Anyway fortunately the creator of this add did what should have done Moz Fx4 developers, so thanks again !

Absolutely perfect! The width of the tabs was actually something I had a pretty big problem with (it's just so ugly how unnecessarily big they are by default) so thank you very much for having made this. Works like a charm.

I would challenge the UX guy that thinks that side scrolling tabs is at all helpful and usable even for novices. Ever-shrinking tabs down to the favicon is a completely obvious metaphor.

Anyway, this extension is a lifesaver.

Smaller tabs for Firefox 4. Great.
