It would be extremely helpful if this plugin could generate a logfile saving the URL, corresponding IP address, and date of visit.

Retrieving current IP address.... Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I can't get an IP when browsing. Is it compatible with 3.5.5?

Does not do what it says Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This plugin does not work as advertised. It is supposed to display the current website IP, but it seems to simply query a whois service and feed you IP from there. Why is this wrong? Well, I have my domains, www.example.com, english.example.com, japanese.example.com all mapped to my local environment for development purposes using hosts file. I downloaded this tool specifically so that I can always see whether example.com points to my live server or localhost. It will *always* give me the IP of the live server, because instead of asking Firefox "what is the IP of the site you are downloading from", it actually does a lookup of the IP on the net. Which can go wrong in many more scenarios - think dynamic dns, etc.

Simple and efficient, good stuff.
As I don't like interface to be English-only, I made a version with locale support (fr-FR added) to be grabbed here http://babelwiki.babelzilla.org/images/0/04/CurrentIP_with_locale_support.xpi

One of those add-ons which are simple and useful. You probably won't see it's importance until you start using it.

Helpful to look down at the status bar and see the IP I'm working on. When I work on a dev website, sometimes I made it so that my DNS entry has the URL of a production website but its run off a dev machine. This IP helps me quickly distinguish the difference so its pretty helpful.

Finally an Add On that adds a lot of value Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Kudos to the team at WebDatamation. You guys have come up with an add on just as I required.

My world revolves around the firefox browser at work and often, I am uploading files to multiple web servers. Since my work is related with website development, this is a very useful addon that I finally came across.

In the localhost front, while testing websites on our local servers, this is one real handy tool. Imagine having to constantly query which server is hosting which website for testing multiple sites. Just have a look at the status bar and you have what you needed!

This simple addon has made my work simpler.

I use it during web development all the time. Every time I had to use cmd and ping but with this plugin, it just displays the ip.
