What's next for Context Highlight Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great work but it should improve immediately new features like you say :

"What's next for Context Highlight
There are three main features I'd like to add to Context Highlight in the future: 1) Some form of preferences GUI to expose and allow customisation some of the features that aren't so obvious (for example, holding CTRL when clicking "Highlight word" doesn't clear existing highlighting). 2) Colour customisation - allowing users to choose their own colours. 3) Characters to ignore (I've had requests for ignoring things like underscores) - this would definitely be optional and set via a user preference. I'll happily discuss and consider other requests, as well as accept code contributions."

Like someone wrote before; Would be even more useful if this (or a new) extension had a function to save a list of phrases to be highlighted.

Not for Thunderbird Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Even though this is listed under a Thunderbird (email) addon, it only works with Firefox.

It would be nice if it allowed words and phrases to be highlighted in Thunderbird emails (going and coming).

This is not a Thunderbird add-on

Hi, there seems to be some confusion here - this has never been listed as a Thunderbird add-on, and I've never supported Thunderbird. I hope you find what you're looking for.

You can only highlight a maximum of two words per page. Not even phrases...if you try to highlight two phrases that occur multiple times on a page then you can only have one phrase highlighted. Its pretty low on features and capability. I don't recommend it.

For the record, I can select your string "a maximum of two words per page", choose "Highlight Words" and the behaviour is as expected.

It sounds like you're coming up against a bug or incompatibility with another extension. Please contact me with details and I'll look into it.

Can't highlight more than 2 things. Won't highlight some sentences I dont know why when doing
"Highlight phrase"

Provides some minor convenience in some situations. Needs some tweaking I think:

Can't add a word to highlight, so you can't highlight two different words unless they appear next to each other somewhere.

If you hit Ctrl-F you can highlight search a single word or phrase anyway. (But can't search multiple words separately.) If you could add new highlights to the list this would be much more useful, and provide functionality that isn't already in Firefox.

Multiple Highlights

If you hold CTRL when you click "Highlight" on a word or phrase, existing highlights are not removed. By using this method, you can highlight multiple terms, regardless of where they are on the page.

I have no plans to add word lists to this particular extension; it doesn't really fit in with the concept. I may release another extension that does this, however.
