This is exactly what I was looking for. Use the first setting to display default colors on a webpage, and the second scheme to turn off white colors if it gets too bright.

Great work Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great work!
A tiny and useful extension, I hope it will be updated for Firefox 4.0 beta.

Exactly what I was looking for.

I got tired of the so many non-ergonomic websites with white backgrounds.
With this addon, you can easily toggle with 1 click between the original and a modified color palette (you can modify both even), changing the websites' colors the way you want it.

great easy fast way to change colors, but the only downside is that some of the webpage's content get hidden...for example the youtube logo on youtube.com or actual posts on some other sites

Toggle between designed colors and generic colors Rated 5 out of 5 stars

So good, a must have on your browser. I have bad eye sight and is very sensitive to light, many sites are design with white background making it very difficult for me to read anything. With this baby I can switch the background off and use a grey background that I setup as a generic color for all sites.

This became essential with the update to Firefox 3.5.2 in order to view websites like wsj.com which uses in some places white lettering on black background. Without this extension, the black background became white and the white lettering became invisible. Thank you!

Fantastic! This is just what I need for websites with too much white space. My eyes thank you!

Author is quite responsive. 0.6 and later corrected bugs, and Color Toggle is now in my 100% must-have extension list. Much improved readability and accessebilitiy for websites with poor color choices. (I would still like to see a corrected support link though!)

Great, but needs more attention Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Adds a fantastic feature, and one that (like full-page zoom) I wish was an integrated built-in part of firefox.

Version 0.5 has some issues reading preferences (all the colors switch to a dark grey for me), but version 0.4 is PERFECT.

Unfortunately it's unclear if this add-on is still supported by the author, since the support URL listed doesn't work.

Awesome! (updated with INSTALL TIP) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Let me be the fourth in a row to say "Great job, does exactly what I was looking for." I've been using a Greasemonkey script to do a very similar function, but it's not as good as this.

And let me also be the third to request a keyboard shortcut. I'd also like the ability to disable the status bar icon.

UPDATE: Nathan hooked us up with a keyboard shortcut and option to disable the status bar icon.

Thanks, Nathan!

INSTALL TIP: If you're getting the dreaded "Invalid file hash (possible download corruption) -261" error message, it's due to a known bug in FF3. 2 work-arounds: 1) enable 3rd party cookies or 2) get this add-on at softpedia

I've been searching for a while for this EXACT functionality. Many thanks!

P.S. It'd be nice to have a keyboard shortcut for toggling this.
