IE of my main browser was changed into Firefox.
Its easy as 1-2-3 to change page between white on black when reading and original site's appearance and color.
i'm using Fx14 on Win7 ultimate
it works now
i think it had a conflict with some other add on, as i had many of them with same functionality, i removed others and now its ok.
or may be the windows high contrast theme was the problem, Firefox has some prob when i use high contrast theme, even without this add-on i was not able to switch background colors and also many of Facebook thumbnails in albums were disabled (blackened)
I am using Firefox 14.0.1 on Linux and it works fine.
Please send me an email at EliteBadger@gmail.com and let me know exactly what you're running and what's not working, and I'll see if I can help.
It works for me in FF 11.0. Thanks for this. Although the hot key doesn't work. As configured - Ctrl/Shift/u - it simply reloads the page. Reconfigured it does nothing. Clicking on the CT button is the only way to make it work. I would also like to put the button somewhere else, would that be possible?
The add-on seems to be working just great with my FF 8. Good job!
Saves immeasurable hours in switching back and forth from the Options menu to get a color scheme my eyes can tolerate, however...
I'm running Windows Home Premium 7, and this Add-on has a frequent tendency to loose its saved settings.
Please check into the possible causes and make sure it is set to notify of updates.
I'm sorry you're experiencing a problem. Color Toggle uses Firefox's own settings mechanism to store all its preferences. If you are experiencing a problem with losing saved settings, I believe it is a Firefox problem rather than an extension problem. I have never experienced the issue you describe.
If you have any more information about the issue you describe you are welcome to file a bug at the Google code site (http://code.google.com/p/colortoggle/), but I suspect there's nothing I can do on my end to fix the problem.
This add-on is right up there with Adblock Plus as my first and immediate installs. Too much of the web is blinding, headache inducing, white backgrounds. Thank you so much for this add-on. I've been using it a long time but never rated or reviewed.
Before using this, I manually changed the colors in FF. I even made a macro to do it quicker. This add-on is much more convenient than what I was doing.
You are a god! Light is a migraine trigger for me and being able to click the little toggle button to go from bright white to a muted grey color scheme is a beautiful thing. Something so simple has had a big impact for me. Thanks!
Great Add-On - Would be very nice to have a Toggle Button... Thanks
Works good but needs a toggle button you can put on the navigation toolbar.
Great, this is exactly what I'm looking for!
This is extremely light addon and this feature should be in Firefox by default!
Easy to use. No need to read a manual. You can use it intuitively. It's available for Fx 4.0 on Windows 7(32bit).
Great. Thanks for this. Best thing like this I've found. I could wish for extending it to all the appearance preference settings, not just color, especially extending it to fonts. I could also wish for more than two sets of settings and a button I could add to the toolbar or a menu I could add to the menu bar that dropped down a list of settings choices. Maybe something like that could be done with Greasemonkey but I haven't been able to figure out how. And if you want to talk blue sky possibilities it'd be nice to be able to change the settings on each open tab independently of the other tabs.
great addon ! Thanks
I love it! The change is fast, the default selection of colors is cool, the button is easily accessible and modifiable... and it's awesome for helping my poor, tired eyes.
The only thing I would recommend that might be useful is a checkbox for allowing images or not. Otherwise, awesome work.
Great addon. Been using it for months. But I recommend everyone who found this addon useful to try Stylish https://addons.mozilla.org/ru/firefox/addon/2108/ which you can adapt to individual sites and to the whole internet. I think it's more practical.
excellent, if you could only add full page zoom toggle too, it would be perfect
really a good extension, a must have if you browse in low light conditions.
I've tried differents system-wide solutions but this is just perfect for firefox.
Sometimes something simple makes a huge difference. Your software reduced seven clicks to one. Seven clicks was far too cumbersome to be worth changing colors on websites, when I would have to change the colors back for the websites where my color scheme didn't work. Now I have a usable solution. Thanks bunches!
This is exactly what I was looking for. Use the first setting to display default colors on a webpage, and the second scheme to turn off white colors if it gets too bright.
I meant "Thank you for this great addon."
A tiny and useful extension, I hope it will be updated for Firefox 4.0 beta.
Exactly what I was looking for.
I got tired of the so many non-ergonomic websites with white backgrounds.
With this addon, you can easily toggle with 1 click between the original and a modified color palette (you can modify both even), changing the websites' colors the way you want it.
Very useful tool. Good work!
great easy fast way to change colors, but the only downside is that some of the webpage's content get hidden...for example the youtube logo on youtube.com or actual posts on some other sites
