Why was Color Management created?
I got the idea for this add-on while reading about the upcoming features for Firefox 3.0. Among them was color management, though it could only be configured through about:config, which isn't something most users would be comfortable with. I'd been interested in learning XUL and making Firefox Extensions, and this seemed like a good starter project to familiarize myself with the technology.
What's next for Color Management
Next for this add-on, I'd like it to prompt the user to restart the application after changing the settings, since they only take effect upon restart. I'd also like to add additional functionality, like maybe extracting profiles from images. And of course this add-on will likely require updating every time the Gecko layout engine gets updated.
