Like it but has a few bugs Rated 4 out of 5 stars

So the UI elements can be oriented left/right (vertical) or top/bottom (horizontal). When theyre vertical on my screen (1366x768) the circle arrow and About Firefox and Mozilla links are all squashed and overlapping at the bottom of the screen. And theres a random bug where the bottom areas of the screen, with all screen elements disappears below the bottom egde, needing to have windows taskbar hidden to see more. Havent figured a reliable way to reset it yet. and assume its not a problem on higher res screen but if you can look at it, would be great

Update: have also worked out how to remove the Firefox logo giving alot more room to the new tab elements, and looks much better with image backgrounds using "Customize about:newtab" So if you wanto remove it for either reason, heres how

1) goto C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxx.profile\extensions and copy "cockpit@mozilla.org.xpi" to somewhere like desktop (make a backup aswell) then extract it.
2) open the home.xul (chrome/content) and home.css (chrome/skin) with a text editor like notepad++
3) in home.xul goto line 49 and change the width="96" height="96" to width="0" height="0", then save it
4) in home.css goto line 15 and change #ff-logo { margin-top: 20px; } to 0px and on lines 17 & 18 change both to 0px aswell, then save it
5) highlight the 3 extracted items (install.rdf, chrome.manifest, and chrome folder) rclick and archive them together as cockpit@mozilla.org.zip
6) manually change .zip to xpi and move it back to the extensions folder overwriting the original

Nice Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Thank Julien. I love it. But can you do a version without the firefox logo. It is kind of waste of space.

A good program. Nice work. BUT there is no way for the user to setup the page to what they want. Also, when you
disable or remove Cockpit, THE SETTINGS REMAIN
POINTED TO COCKPIT!! You have to manually change
things back.

Remove firefox search module? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Im used to searching from the location bar with FastestFox, so the default firefox home search is redundant. It also gets somewhat annoying that it focuses on the firefox search bar, instead of the url bar whenever i open a new tab. My suggestion would be to at least make an option to remove that feature.

Custom background image would be neat, but not a must.

Keep doing like that! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Awesome! This is what i want long time. Would be great if you add bookmark panel in this page, like chrome or more customizable.

Just one "quibble"... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Except for forcing about:newtab onto the "Home" page, I like it. Most of all I like the Settings treatment. (Yes, I know you can hide the grid. I don't want to hide the grid. I just don't want NewTab there.)

How about adding Fx resident memory usage to your About Firefox frame? :D

The content of the newtab page can be hidden.
Just click on the iconic button on the top right of the newtab page zone.
