I think this add-on caused Flagfox to stop working. (Worked after i uninstalled this)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.4.1).

Confirmed and fixed bug

Thanks for reporting this issue. we have confirmed that this is a bug in Select-n-Go. It has been fixed and the new version 1.4.2 will be released soon (maybe tomorrow, editor's review pending). You may check back later to make sure it runs correctly for you. In the mean time, you could consider (if not a big deal for you) displaying the flag in the status bar instead of address bar (set in tools/add-ons/options). We apologize for any inconvenience due to this.

Adding more search engines? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great addons!

but would be cool to add more search engine such as imdb (for movie, imdb.com)

Addig more search engines

Thanks for using Select-n-Go by Cleeki. We are actively adding more channels to maximize your productivity. Please stay tuned for future release. In the mean feel free to customize your own channel via Cleeki's configuration (via "Tools/Add-ons/Options).

works with German Windows too Rated 5 out of 5 stars

So intuitive! It's beautiful. And it works fine on my German-language Windows Vista (32-bit) computer.

I'm delighted that Leo is one of the standard channel choices -- I hadn't expected that.

Request to the developer: I'd love to be able to customize the URLs a bit, especially amazon and ebay. For example, I use amazon.de instead of amazon.com.

Where's the free dictionary? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It says it's supposed to be in the update but I can't find it. It's not on the list or in the settings either.

Pretty cool addon, been using it for a few days.

About the free dictionary

Thanks for your comments on Cleeki. If you have been using Cleeki for a while, here is the way to get the channel updated:

1. Choose from menu "Tools/Add-ons".
2. Open Cleeki's Option dialog.
3. Go to the "channels" tab.
4. Choose the "reset" button, which is the last button located in between the two lists.

This way will restore to the default channel set of version 1.4.1. If you don't want to modify your current channel setup, you can add the channel manually:

preview url: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/[kw]?p
search url: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/[kw]

Hope this helps. We apologize for any inconvenience. We are working to make the update easier. Please stay tuned.

It's great but you need to use their service as a bridge to link to each search engine for proper function.

You are not simply using each search engine individually but through their server to access other search engines.

=== END QUOTE ===

First of all we are thankful for the review. Here are some comments:

1. Cleeki provides functions to link to the full search page of particular content/service providers by clicking on the channel icon using a mouse's middle button or using a "Ctrl + Left button" combination. This is specified in Cleeki's help page. Functions allowing a user to customize the default behavior when the channel icon is clicked is under development.

2. Each search engine is independent from each other and is clearly distinguished using their individual channel icon. We never do " through their server to access other search engines". Actually we don't think any server would provide that kind of functions.

3. That said, it is quite normal these days for online services hosted in 3rd party websites or applications. In fact almost all major Internet runners (Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Amazon, eBay, YouTube, Facebook, the list never ends...) provide their SDKs or APIs and encourage developers to build novel applications or websites based on their services, which is also what Cleeki is doing. It is not only legal, but quite promoted by the service/content providers. You can refer to the following links to get some ideas:

http://code.google.com/apis/ajaxsearch/
http://code.google.com/apis/youtube/overview.html
http://developer.yahoo.com/search/

Hope these clarify the situation. Should you have further comments, suggestions, or questions, you can write to cleeki@gmail.com since the review session is not for discussion purpose. In any case thanks for your time and attention on Cleeki.

it left a piece of code in a forum post, not such a good idea :/ not gooing to use it anymore because of that.
Waste of good potential (together with the search engine bridging mentioned in another comment)

This is a confirmed bug and will be cleared inthe new release.

First of all thanks for your review on Cleeki. We have checked your problem and confirmed it is a bug in our code that might leave some \"ghost\" codes in a text area. In the new release (since ver 1.4.1) we will modify the mechanism to varnish any untouched icon after a while to get rid of this problem. You can also consider disable the launching icon (in the options) to reduce the interference. We will continue working to minimizing any potential annoyance and maximizing your convenience. \r\n\r\nThanks again for your review. Should you have any further questions, please send to cleeki@gmail.com.\r\n

This is great! It took a while to understand how it worked, but now I use it almost every day. It's most useful when I'm reading a page in a foreign language and I want to look words up quickly - I actually learn lots of stuff more quickly! It's a must-have for lazy people like me :)

It saves your time! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Wow, cleeki is amazing! I love it the first time I used it! I especially like the preview functions. To be honest I also used IE8 activities and this one blows that away in terms of the freedom and flexibility you have in the preview page. I have generated a bunch of customized channels and it is really convenient and fun.
