Excellent Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Does just one thing, and does it very well. Super little add-on, which has never given me any trouble. Thank you, O awesome and inculpable developer Chris.

I love this Add-On. While it isn't an *absolute* necessity like OpoenDownload2, it is still one of the very first Add-Ons I install whenever I move to a new computer. It patches an obvious hole in the Firefox UI. After all these years - thank you!

Plain awesome Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Its customizations like these that make me stick with FF for all these years..

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad to hear you still find Clean and Close useful. :)

Just get this addon to speed up my work flow. Works great!

BTW, the "End-User License Agreement" demonstrates the developer has a sense of humor.

FF4 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I second the request to add support for Firefox 4 at this stage RC2.

PS I'm not a member of Twitter and I want to keep it that way. Is there another method of getting the instructions for beta testing?

Testing

Hey Rusty, I just did a maxVersion bump to support FF4. It wasn't working in FF4b7, but it appears to be stable in the final release. Let me know if you experience any problems with it. You can submit reports on http://cleanandclose.uservoice.com/. We also have a page on Facebook for general questions and feedback.

I installed this mainly cuz Firefox built-in download window wouldn't close after a download, but this extension works great.

Git R Done.

When used with Custom Download Manager and its "Show an alert when a download finishes", firefox won't quit! (firefox.exe process stays in memory)

Will review

Thanks for the report LEMONed. If you have a chance, can you report it (officially) at http://cleanandclose.uservoice.com/forums/14176-general? I will try to duplicate on my end.

Not much chance to fail in such a small project.
Adding the alt function was good idea.

Simple, effective. Should be an option in FF to begin with... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Haha, I love the text you put in the Approve step! Nice :)

Now to actual feedback... Why the hell doesn't Mozilla include this type of stuff by default? It's simple and intuitive. It's like the "Send & Archive" Lab feature in Gmail (check it out if you use Gmail!) -- after using it you wonder how you got by without it before.

Here, they could simply have an array of buttons on the buttom; and again these are all logical, simple, and intuitive IMO... some are unnecessary per user but that's what Options in the main menu is for :P

Ideas:

[Cancel All Active]
[Clear All Cancelled / Failed / Completed]
[Clear All and Close window]
[Restart all Paused]
[Restart all Cancelled]
etc.

Good ideas

Submit them to http://cleanandclose.uservoice.com and I can consider them further. Thanks!

I don't even use the Download Manager - I just turned it off in the about:config option for

browser.download.manager.closeWhenDone

and then unchecked the "Remember what I've downloaded" in my Privacy Options.

This app is very useful. Unchecking 'Remember What I've Downloaded' is not useful, because in the end, you might suddenly want the link, but downloads are lost. Closing download window sucks too, because you have to open it again. This one, you do both jobs. In the end, when everything is downloaded, you can still get the download link, and then clear the list and close at the same time. Really useful. Having this addon not installed on the laptop annoys the crap out of me.

Could be really useful, but I didn't agree to the terms of use, so I never installed it.

But I really am awesome!

Srsly - I am awesome. So just accept it. You'll thank me later!

This addon don't have a lot of popularity, but it is hecka useful. I get annoyed clicking clear list, then the close button, so I just click 'Clean Up And Close', and to answer Mr. Mouse's question: having firefox not remember the downloads is not good. What if you download and forget where you save the file, or want to get the download URL, you cannot restore the downloads and try to get the URL. A+++++ for this addon.

Thanks

Thanks for the kind review and for explaining the difference to Mr. Mouse!

pls add a physically delete button for each file, thx!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1).

More details please

Rio - do you mean a button to delete not just the entry in the Download Manager but to actually delete the underlying file saved to your OS? It's an interesting idea, and it would fall into the realm of "cleaning". I'll look into it. Please contact me at http://www.csb7.com/ if you want to provide more info.
