Does not work. Shows only "NA" for ratings.
Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB show as "N/A".
Movie Web Rating sometimes shows as "N/A"
Metacritic doesn't show at all.
Really A Greatest Add-On, But now it needs some update: IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes Stopped working..
Please Update it
Very great add-on.
But, Metacritic data is collected from apps.metacritic.com rather than www.metacritic.com. FYI, those two usually give different results.
I LOVE this add-on~! There are a few add-ons of this type - I have tried most of them, I think, but I love Cinemeter because its so simple, fast and straightforward. This one's a keeper, and I never update Firefox until the current revision is updated, because I actually hate not having it in my browser. A must-have for any movie lover IMO.
Thanks a lot, everyone, for the support and appreciation that you show towards Cinemeter! Please don't hesitate to send me any suggestions/bugs you may have. I'll try my level best to fix them.
Working great now ...
I love the cinemeter add-on, it's the most utilized add-on in my list. In fact, I am so dependent on it that I have avoided updating firefox to the "highly recommended" version 5.0. Now, I realize it's probably not at the top of your priority list, but assuming you do have time in the future, I, for one (and I'm sure many others), would greatly appreciate an updated version.
Downloaded, but can't find a quick-launch icon . Can't access this site.
Much appreciated add-on and looking forward to using it.
The idea is brilliant! However, the one that works for me is "Web Movie Rating". All others will always return NA. I'm using version 0.5.
Using Firefox 3.6.10. IMDB is the only service that works consistently. Rotten Tomatoes NEVER works (always results in "NA"). The other two work on and off. Note that if you click on the "NA", you do go (in most cases) to the right Rotten Tomatoes or Metacritic page for the movie, so something must get lost in translation; however, in a few cases, clicking on the "NA" or even the score displayed takes you to the WRONG page in, say, Metacritic (which means CineMeter displays the wrong score for the movie).
And while we're at it - a suggestion for improvement: both Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes have two scores for each move: one for critics and one for mere mortals. Would it be at all possible to display BOTH scores? That would really make this perfect! Thanks again.
I love it!!! But it needs some touching up here and there... Like improving the UI. But on the whole this is a wonderful addon!
So far I like the add-on. It's very basic and streamlined, provides the information in a nonchalant way. The UI is a bit crude looking though, not a deal breaker for me, although it is a bit rough on the eyes, a tiny bit of work in that area might not hurt. The add-on works great for me and does what it advertises. . As I said earlier, I like simple and streamlined. Provide the info required in the most in-obtrusive, and user pleasing way possible.
I did have one crazy idea, and I'm not quite sure its even feasible. I had a thought that adding the Neilson ratings for television programs might be groovy. I have no idea if its possible, but the added info, in my opinion would give this add-on that extra punch of usable data. Just a thought I had.
Two thumbs up! I'm rating 3 stars, because I believe this has a lot of potential, and want room to give you're subsequent revisions, hopefully, a better rating. I look forward to seeing if you decide to make some changes.
I like the idea, but this add-on needs some work.
There should be links to Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB page that is it getting the information from, even if the rating is made into a link, it would help.
If you are scrolled down the page and highlight text and click Cinemeter, you have to scroll up to see it.
I'd also like to be able to type in the name of a movie to see the ratings.
Thanks for the valuable comments totallyhooked. I've incorporated two of them: the problem with scrolling and the link to the IMDB/RT page.
