Icon is on the statusbar

Icon is on the statusbar.
By default, the add-on bar (a.k.a. status bar) may be hidden. So you need to turn it on by clicking View->Toolbars->Add-on Bar. Click Alt key to see the menu where View menu is located.

Very nice addon that runs smoothly, even on the terrible computer I have to work with in my work office, but unfortunately it's rendered completely unusable for my purposes because it can't record at anything higher than 5FPS. I understand a major key to this addon is accessibility, but that leaves out people with more capable computers who are looking to make smooth-running videos. Simply put, the FPS issue makes the videos this addon puts out unwatchable. I still gave you 3 stars because for all other intents and purposes, it seems to function just fine. Might I recommend considering a more heavy-duty version of the addon that can do 20+ FPS?

Beta for Version 4.0: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/capture-fox/versions/

Statusbar is hidden by default, isn't it? Maybe a minor upgrade can include this. But you can still use shortcut keys. Please look at www.capturefox.com/help. Also, a new and important feature is for developers. Capture Fox can now be controlled from a web page. Details: www.capturefox.com/help/developers.html.

If I record a video over 4 minutes long it freezes and I have to close the browser. Besides that problem I like it.

Bug? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

When I select a custom browser area and then start recording, the red rectangle does not dissappear, only a few links are clickable... All the rest is not (text, links, select boxes, etc...

Using Firefox 3.6.6 @ Windows 7

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.0).

this is not a bug

This is by design. Let me explain. When you select a region, in fact you create a div element that has borders. The red border is shown so that you can see where you capture. The downside of using a div is that you can click the other elements that stay under it.
I'll try to solve this unusable issue in the next version.

Very handy, with some problems. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This crashes Firefox immediately if I set the Capture Area to either 'firefox window' or 'browser area.'
Works great if I set the capture area to 'whole screen'.

I'm running Firefox 3.6.3 with all other plugins disabled on Windows 7 w/ a dual-monitor setup.

audio recording problem Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I could capture a video from a website but no sound. Anyone can teach me how to record audio at the same time? Thanks.

Configuration

Hi,
Capture Fox records your voice not the sound from your computer. But you can accomplish this by doing a little hack.
Please read the 3rd item on http://www.capturefox.com/faq/.

Problem Rated 3 out of 5 stars

when i record something i doesnt show me what i just done in my video

for example...im recording this action of writting and when i finish my video y only plays the page, without showing what i was doing(writting)

why?
is it because i have firefox 3.6?

may be a codec problem

Hi,
This may relate to a codec problem. If you use XVID codec to compress the video then you need XVID codec installed in your computer.

Or you might have used VLC player. There are some issues with the VLC player.

Very great add-ons ! I was looking for a video capture since a long time. If the fps rate could be increased to 24 fps to have a speed of movement similar as movies/tv, it would be even better. :D

I think it's a wonderful addon, just for it's simplicity and ease of use. But I did have a question as to why it was so laggy once I started recording?
