Someone please fork Rated 1 out of 5 stars
I gave this software a stellar review nearly two years ago, and suggested it might be nice to have it ignore common formatting characters when running its calculations. So, for example, you could paste in a string like "$3,200.00" and have it function properly. Pretty easy, right? All you have to do is give us a text box in which we can insert a list of characters we want to see stripped before calculations are run. Twenty months later it still chokes on commas, but the author found time to add adware to the installation. Booooo. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.22).
Used to be great - Can be again Rated 1 out of 5 stars
I have reduced this review to one star based one the addition of adware. My original review was five stars. Oiginal Review: Fantabulous. I love the long history and the auto-paste that happens when you click on a history item. I run this as an independent app with this this target as a Windows shortcut: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -chrome "chrome://calculator/content/calculator.xul" My requests: 1. Strip dollar signs and commas from the Input so that it's easier to paste-and-calculate from external sources. Right now it chokes and you have to delete un-handled characters. 2. Do what you can to activate the cursor in the Input box at launch, and whenever the Calculator gets focus. 3. Add some color or striping to the history to make it easier to keep track of an item. Something for the brain to cue off of... perhaps a color for each kind of mathematical operation? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.15).
